Water droplets oozing from a pothos leaf is a good thing - it means you have raised a robust pothos.
Why pothos leaves release water droplets
When the transpiration of a pothos weakens, the moisture released from the leaf stomata decreases, while the roots are still absorbing water, causing the amount of water taken in to exceed the amount released. If your pothos has strong roots, the stronger root pressure will push the excess water out through the hydathodes at the leaf edges or leaf tips, and the pothos will release water droplets!
Water droplets from pothos mostly appear at night or on warm, humid mornings. The more water droplets, the more vigorous the growth and the stronger the root system!
Grow pothos this way for strong roots and copious water droplets
The water droplets from pothos are truly quite beautiful, with crystal-clear drops hanging on the glossy green leaf tips; just seeing them lifts your mood. To grow pothos to the healthy state where it releases water droplets, root care is key. Huahua will teach you a few secrets for caring for pothos that releases water droplets - come and learn!
1. The soil must be loose and breathable
When mixing soil, flower lovers should choose soil with strong water permeability and breathability so it does not cause root rot. You can mix leaf mold, coconut coir and organic fertilizer in a 1:1:1 ratio. Only when the roots grow well will the pothos release water droplets.
2. Choose a pothos with long vines
When buying pothos, flower lovers can choose one with relatively long vines. This kind of pothos has more roots and is easier to grow.
3. Apply fertilizer regularly
If pothos is to grow healthily, it certainly cannot do without fertilizer. You can buy nutrient solution, or use rice-washing water or bean cake water. When nutrition keeps up and the roots grow well, you need not worry that the pothos will not release water droplets!
4. Do not water too much
Watering too much will cause water to accumulate in the pot and rot the roots. In winter, flower lovers only need to water once every 7 days, and then mist the leaves frequently to maintain a certain level of air humidity.
When rose roots grow strong, they release water droplets abundantly, no less than pothos!
Besides pothos, when the root system of roses grows healthily, they will also release water droplets. Huahua will now teach you how to grow rose roots strong and sturdy, so they release water droplets profusely and look stunning!
1. Do not water too much
Watering too much will cause root rot in roses. If the roots are not strong, how can they release water droplets? Flower lovers should wait until the potting soil is dry before watering. Insert a small wooden stick into the soil; if it comes out dry after being pulled out, then you can water.
2. Apply fertilizer in time
The growth of roses requires sufficient nutrients. During the spring and autumn growing seasons, flower lovers can apply cake fertilizer to roses once every half month, or use 3-4 granules of compound fertilizer once every 1 month. With nutrition, roses will grow with strong roots, and releasing water droplets will not be difficult at all!
3. The soil should be slightly acidic
Roses are suitable for growing in slightly acidic soil. During the growing season, you can water roses with a little fermented rice-washing water, which can effectively regulate the soil pH, make the soil slightly acidic, and let the root system grow stronger!
