How to grow wild apricot seeds? Detailed planting methods and techniques
1. Obtaining the seeds
When June to July comes each year, that is its fruiting time. At this point the whole plant is covered with countless fruits, cluster after cluster, which is quite appealing. Then, once its fruits are fully ripe, we can pick them and take out the seeds inside. After washing them and drying them slightly, they are ready for sowing. If you are not in a hurry to plant them, you can also store them promptly and take them out when it is time to sow.
2. The soil for sowing
When planting it, we should first choose the soil well. It is best to use soil with a deep layer that is loose and soft; there are not great demands on fertility, and ordinary soil is generally fine.
3. Sowing
Before planting, we first prepare the ground. First, dig it deeply, clear away the stones and weeds inside, then rake it fine and level it, and it is best to disinfect it as well to prevent pests and diseases from remaining in it.
After that, you can open up small furrows one by one on top, determine the row spacing, and then sow the seeds in. After sowing, fill the furrows level, that is, cover the seeds so as to keep them warm. Then water an appropriate amount, and you can wait for the seeds to sprout.
4. Care after planting
After the seeds are planted, some time must pass before they begin to sprout. Once they have sprouted, we should begin careful care.
First, give them some appropriate shade; they must not be exposed to direct strong light, otherwise the young sprouts will easily be scorched. Then water appropriately to meet their water needs in the early stage. After some time, the young sprouts will grow into seedlings. When the seedlings reach a certain height, thin them out appropriately, promptly removing the weaker, diseased or damaged seedlings and keeping the healthy, intact ones, so that nutrients are not spread thin and the seedlings can grow faster.
