How to grow golden trumpet trees? Cultivation methods and precautions
1. Temperature
Generally this plant grows best under conditions of 23°C to 30°C and cannot adapt well to cold seasons, so in our country more people grow it in the south.
2. Light
This plant requires a great deal of light during the seedling stage, but if it is grown in a greenhouse, insufficient light and ventilation may weaken the growth of the young seedlings, which then develop damping-off disease. So after its seeds germinate and leaves have grown out, be sure to ensure that the shading level of the growing environment does not exceed 50 percent, and also ensure the ventilation conditions of the environment.
3. Soil
To cultivate large seedlings, you should choose some loose, fertile soil, and this soil must have good capacity for both irrigation and drainage. These cultivation soils should be divided with ditches to facilitate irrigation and drainage, and roughly 3000 plants can be grown per mu.
4. Flower fertilizer
Before growing, bury some flower fertilizer in the soil as a base fertilizer, and this base fertilizer should be thoroughly and evenly mixed with the soil before planting on top of it.
5. Tying and staking
Because this plant grows very fast during the seedling stage, and its main trunk is very soft, it is very easy for it to fall over when the wind blows, so naturally growing plants often have a rather unattractive form. If you want a plant that can stand upright and grow relatively tall and straight, then after planting, when the seedling has grown to 30 to 50 cm tall, insert a 2 m tall bamboo pole beside the seedling to support and guide the plant so it can grow upright. And every time the seedling grows 50 cm taller, it must be tied once.
6. Pruning
This plant must be pruned regularly during its growth period, cutting off the relatively low branches that grow out from the sides, and after the leaves drop in winter it must be pruned once more.
