The Latest Cultivation Techniques and Methods Tutorial for Qingyang Shen
Qingyang Shen is a plant with fairly high medicinal value and relatively good economic value, making it quite suitable for artificial cultivation. It prefers a moist and warm environment, and it is grown by more people in southern regions. Now let's take a look together with the editor at how to cultivate Qingyang Shen.
1. Seedbed Selection
The soil for breeding Qingyang Shen must be treated in advance before planting. The soil should first be given rotten manure, mixed with some dry branches and leaves and similar materials, then some livestock manure should be added for composting for a period of time, and then it should be placed under direct sunlight for about 3 days. If the soil is relatively heavy and sticky, it is best to mix in some fine river sand to improve permeability, then place it into the pre-selected seedling base and level the surface. Put the seeds in, cover them with about 2 cm of soil, and cover the surface with grass material for insulation. There must be no direct sunlight.
2. Transplanting and Field Planting
After the seedlings emerge and reach 5-10 cm, transplanting can begin. The spacing for each seedling should be controlled at about 40-50 cm. Put rotten manure into the planting holes in advance, then place the seedlings into them. The seedlings should be upright, which benefits later growth. The planting holes should be higher than the surrounding soil so that the young sprouts can be properly insulated. The soil does not need to be compacted; a slight press is enough. If the temperature is relatively low, plastic sheeting or grass material can be appropriately used for covering to resist the low nighttime temperatures.
3. Fertilizer and Water Management
After planting the seedlings, some manure water should be appropriately applied so that they have enough nutrients in the early stage. Later topdressing needs to be done according to timing. For 1-2 year old seedlings, control it to once every 1-2 months, and only a small amount is needed. Farmyard manure is best among fertilizer types, with chemical fertilizer second. The amount of farmyard manure should be controlled at about 2500 jin per mu, while the amount of chemical fertilizer should be controlled at about 300 jin per mu, with the amount appropriately adjusted according to conditions. After the seedling stage, fertilization should be controlled to once per quarter. The flowering period and the month before the flowering period are the two time periods for reverse-order topdressing.
4. Field Management
Because Qingyang Shen takes a relatively long time to grow, its field management mainly focuses on weeding, especially during the seedling stage. During the seedling stage, weeding must be done once a month, and the soil should be loosened at the same time, which helps the seedlings grow quickly. If weeds grow vigorously in summer, it needs to be done more frequently. Directly remove diseased and dead seedlings and do not give them a chance to spread. If you are not sure about the timing of fertilization, you can apply topdressing after each weeding. Every year before winter arrives, cold protection preparations must be made in advance to avoid freezing and damaging the plants.
The above is the general process of cultivating Qingyang Shen. The time required to grow Qingyang Shen is generally relatively long. In order to promote the growth of its roots, growers may consider removing the flowers in the early stage so that nutrients can be better concentrated in the roots.
