A Detailed Guide to the Latest Planting Methods and Key Techniques for Aconite
Aconite, also called wild aconite, is mainly cultivated in places such as Hunan, Hubei and Sichuan in China. Aconite is mainly used to treat restored yang for reviving collapse, dispelling cold and relieving pain, cold and pain in the heart and abdomen, beriberi with edema, chronic infantile convulsions, impotence, uterine cold and so on. But we must note that aconite contains a certain toxicity, so it cannot be used directly; it must be processed and prepared before use. However, what we are going to discuss today is the planting method for aconite, so let's learn about it together.
1. Seed selection and land preparation
Aconite has the characteristics of preferring warmth, preferring moisture, preferring sunlight and tolerating cold. The planting site should be chosen as sandy loam rich in humus with deep soil layers, loose soil texture, sufficient fertility, sufficient water sources, but good drainage. It can be wasteland or cultivated land. After choosing the planting site, carry out conventional land preparation and apply a heavy base fertilizer, with farmyard manure as the main base fertilizer. Mix the base fertilizer evenly, open furrows and make beds, and rake the bed surface level. For the seeds, we should choose excellent varieties; varieties such as Zhongfu No. 1 and Zhongfu No. 2 have very good yield and quality.
2. Planting method
⟦NL>Planting is generally carried out in November each year, with a row spacing of 25 to 30 cm and a plant spacing of 15 to 20 cm. When planting, the main planting depth is generally about 15 cm, and usually more than 10,000 aconite plants can be planted per mu. Secondly, when planting, we should note that the planting density should be planned according to different terrain and soil fertility.
3. Field management
Before emergence, we should harrow the beds and clear the ditches, then after emergence, check the growth condition of the seedlings and replant missing seedlings in time. After replanting, carry out one intertillage and weeding, or manually pull weeds. Secondly, when the aconite seedlings grow to about 15 cm, carry out appropriate root pruning; generally during its growth process, about two root prunings are needed. The growth cycle of aconite is relatively short, but three topdressings are still needed, mainly with decomposed compost or barnyard manure. About one week after the first root pruning, pinching should begin, and then bud removal should be carried out once a week. Finally, note that drainage and watering should be done in time.
4. Pest and disease control
During the growth process of aconite, there are still many pests and diseases. Diseases such as southern blight, downy mildew, root rot, powdery mildew and root-knot nematode disease occur commonly. We can use carbendazim, Bordeaux mixture, thiophanate wettable powder and lime sulfur mixture respectively for control. Secondly, the most harmful pests are the heart-boring worm, red aphid, silver-marked noctuid and leafhopper, which can be killed with trichlorfon or dimethoate emulsifiable concentrate.
