Agrocybe aegerita is a medicinal mushroom species, named after the wild oil tea tree. It is rich in nutrients and extremely high in protein content, and is one of the ten precious mushrooms that can be developed today. It is currently selling very well on the market, and quite a few people grow it, so what should be noted when planting it? Let's take a look together.

1. Culture material

Agrocybe aegerita itself has a relatively weak ability to decompose lignin and cellulose. If it is wild, it can only grow on oil tea trees, but if it is artificially cultivated, its cultivation material is very important. The material must be relatively loose, and the proportion of mixed wood sawdust should be relatively small, so that it is suitable for its growth. At the same time, attention should be paid to nutritional issues. For fertilizer, try to use wheat bran or rice bran, so that the Agrocybe aegerita planted will grow relatively quickly.

2. Suitable temperature

When planting, the indoor temperature must be well controlled. Agrocybe aegerita has relatively high temperature requirements. Under normal circumstances, the temperature in the cultivation room should not be lower than 20 degrees or higher than 28 degrees. After 48 hours of inoculation, when fine mycelium can be seen, the temperature at this time should be kept between 23-287 degrees. If cultivating in summer, cooling measures must be taken well, and the temperature in the cultivation shed must not exceed 35 degrees. This will cause it to stop growing.

3. Light

When planting, attention should also be paid to light. When cultivating Agrocybe aegerita, the light requirements are also relatively high. It is a phototropic fungus and has the characteristic of phototropic growth. When building a greenhouse, it is recommended to face the southeast direction, which is conducive to lighting. Of course, during the mycelium cultivation period, even without light, it can still grow and will not form fruiting bodies, so when the fruiting bodies form, attention must be paid to light. However, attention should also be paid to light intensity. At noon, the sunlight is harsh. At this time, cooling and shading measures should be taken well, so as to avoid poor growth caused by strong light exposure.

4. Humidity

When mixing the culture material, moisture is also a matter of concern. The optimal moisture content is between 60-75%. Generally, grab a handful of culture material and squeeze it tightly. If it feels moist between the fingers, then the moisture content is good. If water flows out when you grab it, and it does not scatter after falling to the ground, this means it is too wet, which is unfavorable for growth. During cultivation, air humidity is also extremely important. During mycelium growth, the relative air humidity is required to be around 70%, while when fruiting bodies form, it must reach 100%, and after mushroom emergence, it should drop to around 85%.
