In China, cannabis cultivation must be carried out legally within the scope permitted by the state. If it is cultivated without state permission, it is illegal. Cannabis is not only a medicinal herb, but also the raw material of a drug we often hear about, so the state needs to strictly control it. So how should cannabis be cultivated? Let us take a brief look below.

1. Land preparation and fertilization

Cannabis is suitable for cultivation on plots with fertile soil and good drainage and irrigation conditions. We should also note that the planting site is best sheltered from the wind, or has a windbreak belt. After choosing the planting site, plow the soil deeply and let the soil weather. Wait until the soil thaws in spring, then till it again, and add sufficient barnyard manure to the soil as base fertilizer, tilling and mixing it evenly.

2. Sowing and propagation

Cannabis seeds generally can germinate at one or two degrees, while the seedling growth temperature is ten to fifteen degrees, and the optimal temperature suitable for cannabis growth is twenty-five to thirty degrees. To meet this condition, we generally sow during the period from Qingming to Guyu each year. Sow the selected cannabis seeds in rows with a row spacing of twenty cm, scatter the seeds evenly, and then cover them with a layer of fine soil to conceal the seeds.

3. Cultivation management

After cannabis seeds are sown, it generally takes about ten days for them to emerge. When the seedlings have grown to about ten-plus cm, that is, generally after one month, transplant them for final spacing, thinning out the excess seedlings according to the principle of removing the weak and keeping the strong, ensuring thirty to forty thousand plants per mu. During the process of thinning and evening out the seedlings, we should combine it with cultivating and weeding. Note that watering is not needed during this period unless the weather is very dry. During the period of rapid cannabis growth, that is, when summer begins, water appropriately to prevent drought damage, and of course also pay attention to drainage to avoid waterlogging in the field. Finally, scientific topdressing should be carried out. Generally, urea is applied as topdressing to promote cannabis growth, or using farmyard manure also gives a very good effect.

4. Pest and disease control

There are actually very few diseases of cannabis; the greatest threat to its growth is actually insect pests. The main ones include longhorn beetles, corn borers, hemp flea beetles, small weevils, flower beetles, jute noctuid moths, and small looper caterpillars. These pests are all very common. For longhorn beetles, corn borers, and hemp flea beetles, we can use dimethoate for control; for small weevils, flower beetles, jute noctuid moths, and small looper caterpillars, trichlorfon can be used for control.

The cultivation method of cannabis is actually very simple. The reason there is very little cannabis for sale on the market is also due to the state's strict control over cannabis. This is also an attitude of the state being responsible for us, so do not cultivate it privately, otherwise the consequences are very serious.
