How do you care for a cactus so it blooms? A few practical methods
Cacti are generally grown for 3-4 years, and when the ball diameter reaches 3-4 cm they should be able to bloom. To make a cactus bloom, pay attention to the following points.
Sunlight
Cacti require full sunlight; if a cactus is kept indoors for a long time and lacks sunlight, it will not bloom.
Temperature
Cacti need a relatively warm environment; if the ambient temperature cannot reach above 20 degrees, they will not bloom.
Watering
Never water too much, do not let the potting soil become too wet, and it is better to keep it dry rather than wet. Especially during the winter and summer dormant periods, watering should be restrained even more.
Fertilizing
Although cacti tolerate poor soil and drought, they are not easy to bloom when they are both dry and short of fertilizer. Therefore, during cultivation, appropriate water and fertilizer should be given; during the growing season, apply a thin, fully rotted cake fertilizer once every 10 days to half a month. Fertilizing should not be excessive either, as excess will also lead to failure to bloom.
Microenvironment
Be careful to create a local environment of suitable temperature and high humidity for the cactus, such as making a closed frame with plastic film on a windowsill and placing the cactus inside for care; it will not only grow faster, but also have brighter colors and bloom more easily.
