Reasons for shriveled leaves on the jade plant and how to fix them

Flowers & Gardening 0 views
Its leaves have an emerald green color and are very glossy, making them very pleasing to look at. It also has small flowers, white or white-pink. However, its flowers are not very common, and it is the leaves that are the most ornamental. So when its leaves shrivel, it must be very troubling. So what should we do?

1. Watering problems

(1) Cause: Because this plant likes a somewhat drier environment, it is especially afraid of waterlogging. So if it is given too much water, it is very easy for the roots to be damaged, and this then shows up in the leaves, namely the phenomenon of shriveled leaves.

(2) Measures: We can first cut off the shriveled leaves; this plant's ability to sprout is still fairly strong, so there is no need to worry. In addition, we have to adjust the watering. When it is growing vigorously, it can be watered a little more. But by no means should it be watered excessively. Normally, we can water when we observe that the potting soil is too dry, and for the time being not water when it is not dry. Also, when watering, it is best to water thoroughly and to water evenly.

2. Light problems

(1) Cause: This plant loves light very much. So if it is placed in a shady spot for a long time, and the light is too weak, the phenomenon of shriveled leaves can also occur.

(2) Measures: If this is the cause, first cut off the leaves. Next, adjust the light. At the very least it must have indirect light. Apart from the especially strong light at midday, it can be given more light, and it should not be kept in a shady place for a long time.

3. Poor ventilation

(1) Cause: This is also an important cause of shriveled leaves on the plant, especially when the temperature is high, the humidity is relatively high, and on top of that the ventilation is poor.

(2) Measures: For this situation, also first deal with these leaves. Then strengthen the ventilation; it can be moved outside, or to a relatively airy spot such as a balcony.
