For flower growers, cultivating peace lilies is a profitable crop, so quite a few growers choose to plant them. So how do you grow peace lilies well? This requires some careful attention. When cultivating peace lilies, we can approach it from four aspects to achieve the results we want.

1. A High-Quality Growing Environment

A high-quality planting site often brings an extra abundant harvest, so flower growers must first create a good growing environment for peace lilies. In terms of temperature and humidity, a place with long-term stable temperatures and higher temperature and humidity is more suitable for them, so priority should be given to areas close to water with longer sunlight hours. In daily care, attention must be paid to sun protection during the midday period, as strong light will inhibit their growth. As for soil type, fertile moist soil near water is best; if it is a place with lush aquatic plants, it is best to clear the weeds and then turn the soil and expose it to the sun for about a week. To improve fertility, you can mix some organic farmyard manure and plant ash into the soil, and compost for 3-5 days before planting.

2. Daily Management

When cultivating peace lilies, flower growers need to spend a lot of time in the growing site, especially in the early stages. During the seedling stage, check which seedlings are growing slowly or not growing at all, and investigate the reasons; if conditions allow, it is best to transplant them to a better location to observe their growth. Rapidly growing weeds should be cleared promptly. Seedlings with external injuries should also be monitored promptly to see whether their growth is affected. Soil moisture should be spot-checked at irregular intervals to ensure it meets standards.

3. Precautions

Peace lilies do not have a high demand for fertilizer, so flower growers should be careful to control the amount of fertilizer used. The first fertilization is recommended at the time of transplanting seedlings, where a certain amount of organic fertilizer can be applied in the planting hole; the second is at the time of repotting, where some fertilizer needs to be placed at the bottom of the pot. When watering, avoid uneven watering; it is recommended not to use the splashing method. For daily watering, it is recommended to water plant by plant, and in summer, to retain moisture, it is recommended to combine this with mist spraying.

4. Pest and Disease Prevention

Pests and diseases are unavoidable when cultivating peace lilies, and flower growers must detect them in time. During daily observation, pay attention to these situations: first, wilting flowers; second, plants with abnormal coloration; third, plants that appear to be lodging to one side. Plants showing the above conditions should be examined carefully, especially when the situation occurs in a localized area, which requires even more attention. As for pests and diseases, flower growers should check more often whether there are insects or similar things on the undersides of the plants.

How to grow peace lilies basically comes down to the above four aspects, and you can generally cultivate nice flowers. However, when growing them, everyone should also choose suitable varieties according to their local conditions; in some places with lower temperatures, you can choose ones with slightly higher cold resistance. These aspects need to be determined by the flower growers themselves.
