A Detailed Guide to the Blooming Period of Gloxinia and Care Precautions
1. Temperature:
A suitable temperature can make the flower colors more vivid when blooming. So we need to pay attention to the temperature during the blooming period. During its blooming period, we can keep the surrounding temperature at 18°C to 25°C. If the temperature is too high, be careful to place it indoors to cool down; if the temperature is too low, be careful to keep it warm.
2. Light:
During its blooming period, if you want to extend the flowering time, you can leave it in shade for a longer time. If you don't need to, you can give it more sun, which, as long as the leaves are not harmed, can make it produce more flowers.
3. Water:
During the blooming period, a large amount of water is needed, but because its flowers cannot get wet, you need to be careful when replenishing water, and it is best to use the soaking method. When you first start growing it, it is best to use a flower pot with holes. During the blooming period, you can prepare a container larger than the pot, fill it with water, carefully place the pot in the water, and as soon as you see a little water seeping out from the surface of the soil, take it out immediately to avoid harming the leaves. During the blooming period, also be careful not to let it be exposed to rain.
4. Fertilizer:
Blooming requires a large amount of nutrients. At this time, in addition to the organic fertilizer you add every week, you can add some bone meal when it blooms.
5. Pruning:
During the blooming period, it is best to cut off the leaves that block the flowers from blooming.
