Soak cuttings in homemade rooting water, grow a mass of white roots with a high success rate
Taking cuttings of flowers is one of the great joys of growing plants, but the biggest problem with cuttings is rooting, and many plants are quite difficult to root when propagated from cuttings, so rooting water is essential. However, rooting water is not commonly available, yet some everyday items can serve the purpose of rooting water.
1. Rice vinegar solution
Choose high-quality rice vinegar, dilute it with clean water a hundred times, soak the cuttings in it overnight when taking cuttings, and then insert them after removing them; this can significantly increase the survival rate and also let the cuttings grow faster and stronger.
2. Aspirin solution
Soaking branches in a 0.01% concentration aspirin solution can significantly increase the germination rate and also promote rooting. Aspirin contains natural salicylic acid, so it has the effect of promoting rooting in cuttings.
3. Willow twig infusion
As mentioned above, aspirin contains a certain amount of salicylic acid, which promotes plant rooting, so the infusion of willow branches is also a very good plant growth agent. Its liquid is rich in growth hormones, and using it as a growth agent does not harm the plant and leads to fast rooting.
The method of use is also very simple: crush willow branches and soak them in water, then remove them after about a day, and the water is the willow infusion. Generally, soak the cuttings in it for about a day, then insert them, and rooting will be faster and the plants will grow very robustly.
4. Honey water
Generally, when taking cuttings, growth hormones are needed to promote rooting. We can dip them in honey, which can also promote rooting and increase the survival rate of the cuttings.
Autumn is about to arrive, and in the suitable season for cuttings, we can use these rooting waters to promote plant rooting. When the temperature drops and it is cool, we can start propagating our potted plants.
