Potted plants easily die from overwatering, so you must control the amount of water when caring for them.
Beginners are always afraid of not doing a good job and worried about not giving enough care, so they try their very best and fear doing anything wrong. In fact, paying too much attention often leads to poor results, especially with watering. Once you water too much, it is easy to harm the flowers. Today I will share with everyone several potted plants that easily die once watered too much.
1. Snake plant
The snake plant is very drought-tolerant. Generally, watering two or three times a month is enough. Applying cake fertilizer water or fermented rice-washing water once a month will soon make it grow into a full pot. Snake plants are relatively prone to root rot. Whether it is water accumulation caused by overwatering or compacted soil, both very easily cause root rot, so if you want to grow snake plants well, while controlling watering, you must also ensure the pot soil's air permeability and drainage.
2. Cactus, succulents
The native environment of cacti and succulents is a desert environment. Generally, not watering for one or two months is no problem. Usually pay attention to controlling watering and give more sunlight, and they will very easily grow into a full pot.
3. Money tree
Most money tree deaths are caused by overwatering. Its root system is relatively weak. Once the pot soil is too wet, root rot very easily occurs. Moreover, when caring for a money tree, you must decide what size pot to use according to the size of the tree shape. If the flower pot is too large, the water poured in is not easy to evaporate, and it also easily causes root rot.
4. Kalanchoe
Kalanchoe is also a type of succulent and is relatively drought-tolerant. Usually watering about once a week is enough. Once watered too much, root rot easily occurs.
5. Dianthus
Among flowering plants, dianthus can be considered super drought-tolerant. Even in summer, watering once every 5-7 days is enough.
There are also many flowers that cannot be watered too much, such as desert rose, Polyscias fruticosa, dragon bone, Schefflera octophylla, carnation, begonia, and so on. So when everyone buys new flowers, you should check their habits. In this way, care will get twice the result with half the effort.
