Succulents have always been popular potted plants, and their appearance is quite cute. Today I want to share a very adorable succulent with you. Most succulent lovers hope it will never grow up, and that is Monilaria moniliformis (Bunny Ears). Monilaria moniliformis is truly adorably out of this world, but once it grows up it turns into a "wash, cut and blow-dry" look, (*^▽^*).

It is native to South Africa and is a very drought-tolerant plant. It does not have high light requirements. In the hot summer season it directly enters dormancy, and at this time it needs shade, ventilation and no watering. Generally, spring and autumn are its growing seasons, and watering must be ensured. When it lacks water, the leaves droop.

When the summer temperature exceeds 35°C, the whole plant will slowly wither and enter dormancy. At this time the plant shrinks and becomes smaller, but it is not dead. It should then be placed in a cool, dry place to get through summer. In winter, when the temperature is below 0°C, it likewise enters dormancy and also needs no watering.

During the growing season, the leaves begin to grow after dormancy ends. The leaves grow relatively short at first, just like rabbit ears, and slowly grow taller as the plant grows. At the next dormancy, the leaves will wither again, and so the cycle repeats. Therefore, the commonly heard saying that "it will become leggy after growing up" is incorrect. In fact, it goes through this process every year.
