A Detailed Guide to the Latest Methods for Making Pine Bonsai
Step 1: Collecting the stump
The best time to collect the stump is at the Start of Spring each year, before all things revive. To avoid damaging its roots, try to dig it out with as much soil as possible around the roots, as this can improve its survival rate. After digging it out, all of its wounds must be wrapped and bound up, and at the same time nearly half of its branches and leaves should be pruned away, which also serves to improve its survival rate. At this point you absolutely must not be too soft-hearted to prune.
Step 2: Planting
First is the choice of pot; a bowl-shaped pot should be used, and the size of the pot can be determined according to the size of the collected stump. Before planting in a pot, you can first grow it in the ground for care, as this helps it survive after potting. When potting, there is also a little trick: on the first day, fill the pot with only 2/3 of the soil, then water it once; on the second day, put all of the remaining 1/3 of the soil into the pot. This is to make the soil show a more even and suitable moisture level.
Step 3: Care
After potting, water it once more, then place it in a windless spot with light, but when it has just been potted it should still avoid overly intense sunlight; after it has survived, it can be placed in sunlight all day to grow. If the soil is on the dry side, you can water it. At the same time, you should also spray water on its leaves every day.

If you want to shape it, you must wait until it has completely recovered its growth before doing so. Just choose a suitable shape for its stump and prune accordingly. By no means should you do this too early.
