How to care for a pine bonsai? A detailed guide to the latest methods
Strictly avoid waterlogging
Pine bonsai can survive well in places without sunlight, but if waterlogging occurs, the soil will first lose its air permeability, and then root rot will develop. At this point it can no longer absorb water, causing the branches and leaves to turn yellow and dry up, and in severe cases it will die. So in daily watering you must control the amount of water to avoid waterlogging, and this is also a very important issue for pines.
Fertilize in moderation
Actually, pines do not have a very high demand for fertilizer, but to make them grow faster we give them some extra fertilizer, so never fertilize in excess. Just fertilize twice a year, from August to October. Most people, in order to make them grow quickly, fertilize heavily or fertilize multiple times, which backfires: not only does it fail to achieve the appearance of rapid growth, but instead the plant may stop growing or grow deformed.
Repotting
If you want to grow a better bonsai, repotting is unavoidable. The interval for repotting is about once every 3 to 4 years, and the time for repotting can be from September to October, or from February to March. Although repotting is good for its growth, it should not be done too frequently; once every 3 to 4 years is the best interval. If you repot frequently, it will die.
