How to water Phalaenopsis in autumn

1. Watering frequency

The watering frequency in autumn is not fixed. Autumn is the boundary between the hottest summer and the coldest winter of the year, so the temperature changes are fairly obvious, and the watering frequency must change accordingly, gradually extending from once every 3 days and adjusting to the actual condition of the soil; just keep the soil slightly moist.

2. Watering technique

Before watering the Phalaenopsis, gently turn over the potting soil first, and water only after the potting soil has become loose and fluffy. This speeds up the rate at which water seeps into the soil layer and avoids creating half-dry, half-wet uneven soil. When watering, just pour along the rim of the pot; do not splash it directly onto the plant.

3. Adjusting the water temperature

In early autumn the temperature is still fairly warm, and the water temperature is not much different from room temperature, so there is no need to worry about the water temperature; normal watering is fine. But in late autumn, if the temperature drops fairly quickly and the overall temperature is relatively low, let the cold water sit indoors for a while to warm up slightly, and water only after the water temperature is close to the soil temperature.

4. Half watering, half misting

In autumn, although the weather becomes fairly dry and the plant needs plenty of water to supply its own growth and development, you cannot add and use it at will. When the temperature is too low, evaporation is slow, so it is not suitable to water too much; when the air is dry, using a spray bottle to spray some water mist on the plant is a better choice.
