What fertilizer to apply to dragon fruit during the fruit-setting stage? The latest fertilization method

During the fruiting period of dragon fruit, especially during the fruit expansion stage, fertilizer and water management must be strengthened. During the fruiting period of dragon fruit, especially during the fruit expansion stage, fertilizer and water management must be strengthened. Because the growth and development of the fruit consumes a lot of nutrients, but at this time the fertilizer chosen for application must be targeted, all for the purpose of increasing the fruit-setting rate, promoting fruit expansion, and improving fruit quality.

Potted dragon fruit is different from field-planted dragon fruit. For potted plants, nutrients are often very limited due to space constraints, so fertilization must not only be timely but also frequent. As long as we can control the concentration well, it usually will not cause fertilizer damage and lead to fruit drop.

Fertilization during the fruiting period of dragon fruit is different from that during the growing period. The growing period mainly supplements nitrogen, while the fruiting period usually mainly supplements phosphorus and potassium. Therefore, in order to stabilize and preserve the fruit and promote fruit growth and development, it is recommended that everyone apply some decomposed organic fertilizer and high-phosphorus-potassium compound fertilizer during the fruit-setting stage.

Generally, a small potted dragon fruit plant can be top-dressed with at least half a jin of decomposed organic fertilizer solution; a large potted dragon fruit plant can be top-dressed with 10 jin of decomposed organic fertilizer solution. At the same time, add about 200 grams of high-phosphorus-potassium compound fertilizer to the organic fertilizer solution, mix thoroughly, and then pour it onto the potted dragon fruit.

But the watering method must also be correct. Do not pour it directly at the roots. Usually, apply it evenly in a circle along the inner edge of the flower pot, and control the frequency to once every 10-15 days. Generally, during the fruit-setting period, only 2-3 top-dressings are needed to meet the nutrient needs of fruit growth and development.

Of course, during the fruiting period of dragon fruit, we usually mainly top-dress with organic fertilizer, and at the same time appropriately supplement phosphorus and potassium fertilizers such as superphosphate and potassium sulfate, which can also promote fruit sugar accumulation and improve fruit quality.

At the same time, we also need to do a good job of moisture retention for potted plants. We can appropriately spray water on the stems and leaves of the dragon fruit. This can play a role in moisturizing the branches and can also promote the plant to grow aerial roots. Because dragon fruit prefers a sunny, warm and humid growing environment, but requires good ventilation conditions.
