Why are some leaves of the pothos in the newest pot especially green?
1. Mild fertilizer burn
If some leaves of the pothos in one pot are especially green, it is very likely caused by slight over-fertilization. With mild fertilizer burn, individual pothos leaves will become thicker, their color will turn dark green, and the leaf surface will feel uneven. If the pothos is given more fertilizer water, it will very likely cause severe fertilizer burn, making the pothos develop yellow leaves and withered leaves. For mild fertilizer burn in pothos, we only need to stop fertilizing and continue normal care, and it will not have any effect on the pothos.
2. Uneven fertilization
If some leaves of the pothos in one pot are especially green, it is very likely caused by uneven fertilization when applying foliar fertilizer. For example, when spraying potassium dihydrogen phosphate on pothos leaves, some leaves receive more fertilizer water. When there is no over-fertilization, these leaves that receive sufficient fertilizer water will grow more robustly, with larger leaves and greener leaf color.
3. Uneven light
If some leaves of the pothos in one pot are especially green, it may also be caused by uneven light. First, make sure the plant carries out sufficient photosynthesis, so that the chlorophyll in the pothos will be greater and the pothos leaves will be greener. For pothos leaves that receive insufficient light, the leaf color will be relatively lighter, so during usual care the pot should often be turned to ensure the plant receives consistent light. When the pothos carries out sufficient photosynthesis, the plant's leaf color will be greener, but direct sun exposure should also be avoided to prevent the plant from being sunburned and developing sunscald.
