Why are the leaves of the azalea turning yellow?
The leaves of the azalea may turn yellow due to improper soil, improper fertilization, an unsuitable environment, and so on. Therefore, the soil used to care for it needs to be loose, fertile, humus-rich, and slightly acidic. Its growing environment should be mainly semi-shaded, with sun protection and shading in summer, and it should be brought indoors in winter to protect it from the cold.
Why the azalea's leaves turn yellow
1. Unsuitable soil
In the process of caring for the azalea, it must be repotted once every 3-5 years. The soil used to care for it needs to be loose, fertile, humus-rich, and slightly acidic, with a soil pH between 5.5 and 6.5, and during its growing period it should be watered frequently with alum fertilizer water. If alkaline soil or clayey soil is used, it will cause problems, and it may even be very difficult for it to survive.
2. Improper fertilization
When applying fertilizer to the azalea, we should apply it according to the plant's actual growth conditions. Improper fertilization can also cause yellow leaves, because the humus nutrients in the growing soil itself can meet the plant's growth needs, so applying concentrated fertilizer easily causes fertilizer damage to the plant. During the bud-setting period, apply alum fertilizer water, and stop fertilizing in winter.
3. Unsuitable environment
The azalea likes a humid and well-ventilated environment, and an unsuitable environment can also cause yellow leaves. Its growing environment should be mainly semi-shaded, but in summer, when the temperature is too high, it should be placed in a semi-shaded spot for care, increasing the air humidity around the plant. During the growing season, keep the potting soil moist. Its most suitable growing temperature is 13°C-25°C.
