What soil makes a Jade Plant grow fast? Sharing the latest soil mix method
The jade plant's root system is poorly developed, so it generally grows rather slowly. Besides its own reasons causing slow plant growth, many factors can affect its growth. One of these factors is the potting soil; if the potting soil is mixed well, it will also accelerate its growth to a certain extent.
Soil is the material foundation for the growth of flowering plants. Whether the potting soil is mixed well will, to a certain extent, affect the plant's growth. This is also true for the jade plant, a succulent; although its requirements for soil quality are not very high, it still likes loose, breathable, highly permeable sandy loam.
The jade plant is drought-tolerant but not waterlogging-tolerant. If the potting soil's permeability is too poor, it will not only affect the root system's breathing but also easily cause water accumulation leading to root rot. Therefore, the potting soil's permeability must be strong, ensuring the plant's root system can smoothly exchange air while also not causing water accumulation in the pot when watered too much.
Not only that, the jade plant also rather likes fertile soil, but it is not tolerant of heavy fertilizer. So when mixing soil for the jade plant, it is required to add some soil fertility on the basis of being loose, breathable and highly permeable. The jade plant itself is also an evergreen plant; as long as the growing environment is suitable, it will keep growing continuously, so it will constantly consume nutrients.
In addition, the jade plant is also an acid-loving plant. When mixing soil for it, we suggest making the soil slightly acidic. This can better promote the plant's growth. If the potting soil becomes too severely salinized and alkaline, it will inevitably cause poor growth in the jade plant.
Therefore, when mixing soil for a potted jade plant, the requirements are fertile, loose soil that is breathable and permeable, rich in humus and slightly acidic. Only such soil can better meet the plant's growth needs, making the plant grow faster with better ornamental effect. It is generally recommended to use leaf mold, garden soil and river sand, mixed in a ratio of 5:2:3, with the pH value kept at around 6.5.
