Growing Method for Small Mung Bean Hydroponic Potted Plants

1. Prepare the Container

Before hydroponically growing a small mung bean potted plant, choose a hydroponic container of suitable size, preferably one that is not too deep and whose opening is not too large. To be able to see the rooting situation clearly, it is best to choose a transparent glass container. Clean the glass container thoroughly and take proper disinfection measures.

2. Cut the Branch

Cut a robust, pest-free mung bean branch 5-10 cm long from the mother plant; note that the branch must have a little leaf bud on it, as this can accelerate root growth. After cutting, disinfect the wound with potassium permanganate solution and place it in a cool environment.

3. Hydroponic Rooting

Insert the mung bean branch into the hydroponic container, with the depth reaching one-third or one-half. Keep the room temperature at 25 degrees, change the water every 2-3 days, and add a few drops of growth solution each time you change the water; after about half a month, roots will grow. After rooting and leafing, it can be transplanted into a pot, thus ensuring a relatively high survival rate.
