How to Bury Orchid Bulbs? A Detailed Guide to the Latest Planting Method
Before burying orchid bulbs, prepare a loose, breathable, water- and fertilizer-retentive soil rich in humus, wash the bulbs clean and place them in a diffused-light environment for 2-3 hours, then soak them for one hour in a rooting agent solution or an acetylsalicylic acid tablet solution, and after drying, plant them in the soil, and after about two months small side shoots will sprout.
Storage Method
1. Prepare the Soil
Orchids like to grow in loose, breathable, water- and fertilizer-retentive soil rich in humus. Generally, the soil choice should be mainly humus, using leaf mold or mountain forest humus soil. So two parts leaf mold, two parts vermiculite, and one part perlite can be evenly mixed together.
2. Bulb Treatment
Wash the orchid bulbs clean and place them in a diffused-light environment for 2-3 hours, then soak them for one hour in a rooting agent solution or an acetylsalicylic acid tablet solution, then take them out and place them in a ventilated, breathable environment to dry. Fill the soil into the flowerpot and carry out comprehensive disinfection and sterilization treatment.
3. Planting in Soil
Plant the dried orchid bulbs in the soil, keep the soil moist, and place the cultivation flowerpot in a well-ventilated, shady spot for care. After about two months, small side shoots will sprout, and when the small side shoots grow to 5-6cm, new root tips can sprout from the bottom of the bulb.
