How to grow Aeonium succulents so they quickly establish in their pots
If you want an Aeonium to establish in its pot, you should pay attention to light intensity and the growing environment. In summer, when temperatures are extremely high, you should provide appropriate shade to prevent scorching; when establishing, choose a ventilated and moist environment, which helps the Aeonium's roots bind with the soil. For the establishing container, choose one with good drainage.
How to help an Aeonium establish as quickly as possible
1. Light
When growing Aeonium in summer, pay attention to the intensity of sunlight. In the afternoon when temperatures are too high, you can provide appropriate shade. When establishing, it is best not to put the Aeonium under direct sun, as this can easily prevent it from absorbing water properly and cause it to die.
2. Environment
For an Aeonium to establish, choose a ventilated, moist environment. In summer, water evaporates quickly, so when planting you must ensure the Aeonium's growing soil is moist enough; however, note that there should not be standing water in the pot, otherwise the Aeonium will suffer root rot and die.
3. Root trimming
Before an Aeonium establishes, the root system must be trimmed: cut off damaged roots and overly dense roots, then place the Aeonium in a cool place to dry for a period of time. Once the cut wounds have healed, it can be potted up.
4. Potting up
When potting up, check whether the growing container has good drainage, then fill it with moist, well-aerated soil, such as humus soil or garden loam. After potting up, do not water immediately; place the Aeonium in a cool place to grow, and water three days later.
