Celery is a cool-season vegetable, and under cool climate and short-day conditions its vegetative growth is vigorous, yields are high, and quality is good. In most parts of our country, autumn is most suitable for celery growth. Therefore, open-field celery is mainly cultivated in autumn, with the largest area, but celery has strong adaptability, and as long as suitable varieties are selected and some corresponding measures are taken in planting, it can also be cultivated in spring, summer, and winter. At present, a considerable number of regions and cities in our country have achieved a four-crop cultivation pattern of spring, summer, autumn, and winter, basically forming a cultivation system that can produce and supply year-round.
