How to grow a beautiful shape with money tree (Zamioculcas zamiifolia)
1. Pinching
Pinching is actually done so that all its branches can grow well, because if you do not pinch, only the top will grow leggy while the other branches grow slowly. This inevitably makes it lopsided, and the shape does not look very good either. After pinching, all the branches are even and neat, which actually makes it more beautiful.
2. Bud removal
Bud removal is also a way to encourage it to grow a good shape, because its trunk base and its body will grow many adventitious buds, and these things easily consume its own nutrients, so removing them allows the plant to grow better. Of course, if some spots are missing branches and there happens to be a strong bud there, then we should not remove it, because we need to wait for it to grow out.
3. Leaf removal
The best time to view this plant is when new leaves are sprouting; at this time the leaves are very small, bright and eye-catching, and very pleasing to look at. We can generally remove the old leaves so that the tree grows new leaves again, which creates another particularly good viewing period.
4. Branch pruning
This plant quickly grows new branches, and they should be pruned to maintain its beauty. Pruning is built on a love of bonsai trees, and can usually be transformed into a natural form, such as pruning the branches into clouds, or pruning them into a miniature of a tree. It can also be pruned so that the middle is slightly taller, with varying sizes, and the outer outline looks like a sunflower seed, which looks very beautiful.
Usually take care to avoid cutting it into a round shape, because pruning it this way makes it very dull, even tacky. When pruning, all bad branches, overlapping branches, and inward-growing leggy branches must be cut off. It must be affirmed that in some special cases, some branches can be left, so that the shape can be made more perfect. One or two years after the shape is finished, there will still be some shortcomings, and if new shoots come to make up for them, that is a welcome stroke of luck.
