An Overview of the Latest Production Area Distribution of Black Wood Ear Mushroom

China is the main producer of black wood ear mushroom, with production areas mainly distributed in Jilin, Heilongjiang, Liaoning, Inner Mongolia, Guangxi, Yunnan, Guizhou, Sichuan, Hubei, Shaanxi and other places, among which Hailin City in the Mudanjiang region of Heilongjiang Province and Huangsongdian Town in Jiaohe County of Jilin Province are the largest black wood ear mushroom bases in China.

There are 9 species of black wood ear mushroom in China. Heilongjiang has all 8 existing varieties, Yunnan currently has 7 species, and Lushi County in Henan has one species. Wild black wood ear mushrooms are mainly distributed in the Greater and Lesser Khingan forest areas, the Qinba Mountains, the Funiu Mountains, Huanren in Liaoning and other places. Fangxian and Suizhou in Hubei, Qingchuan in Sichuan, and Wenshan, Honghe, Baoshan, Dehong, Lijiang, Dali, Xishuangbanna, Qujing and other prefectures and cities in Yunnan, as well as Lushi County in Henan Province, are the production areas of black wood ear mushroom in China.

The Mudanjiang region of Heilongjiang Province enjoys unique geographical, resource and climatic advantages. The famous Linhai Xueyuan, Xuexiang, Weihu Mountain, Lianhua Lake and Jingpo Lake are located within this region. The area is rich in forestry resources, and the large temperature difference between day and night, together with abundant mountain spring water, are most suitable for the growth of black wood ear mushroom and various other precious edible fungi of the fungus category, and the quality of the black wood ear mushroom produced here is also the best in the country.

The Yehe area of Chunhua Town in Jilin Province is mountainous with dense trees and vast mountain forests, providing superior conditions for planting and breeding black wood ear mushroom.

In addition, the Yunling and Hengduan mountain areas of Yunnan, Guizhou, Guangdong and Guangxi are also important black wood ear mushroom production areas, and places such as the Qinling and Bashan mountains, the Funiu Mountains, Shennongjia, the Dabie Mountains and the Wuyi Mountains also produce high-quality black wood ear mushroom.
