Yellow soybean sprouts are a nutritious and delicious vegetable, containing protein, fat, sugar, crude fiber, calcium, phosphorus, iron, carotene, vitamin B1, vitamin B2, niacin, vitamin C and other nutrients, with effects such as clearing heat and improving eyesight, replenishing qi and nourishing blood, preventing bleeding gums, cardiovascular sclerosis and lowering cholesterol. Now let us take a look at how to sprout yellow soybeans as quickly and well as possible!

Selecting the soybeans

1. Selecting the beans: Spread the yellow soybeans evenly over the seedling tray. The first step is to carefully select the beans and remove any with wormholes, black spots, or that are not plump.

2. Soaking the beans: Rinse the yellow soybeans once, place them in a clean, oil-free container, add water to about 8-10 cm above the soybeans, and soak for 10 hours.

3. Spreading the beans: Clean the seedling tray, place a piece of moistened seedling paper in it, and then spread the clean yellow soybeans evenly over it.

4. Rinsing: In summer, after soaking for about 10 hours the beans have generally grown a lot, so rinse them immediately under running water and discard the bad beans.

Routine care

1. Temperature: Yellow soybeans will have trouble sprouting when the temperature exceeds 30 degrees; only at a suitable temperature will they avoid rotting. The suitable temperature for sprouting is around 28 degrees.

2. Watering: Watering is the most important step. Keep them moist at all times, but do not use too much water, and do not let water remain at the bottom of the tray, otherwise the roots may rot.

3. Light: Yellow soybeans must be sprouted away from light. After spraying with water, cover the seedling tray with a thick layer of moist gauze.

4. Sprouting: When watering yellow soybean sprouts, water thoroughly, and continue to spray the cotton cloth moist and cover it on top. Generally by the evening of the second day, fine tender sprouts will appear.

Precautions

1. When the sprouts grow to 15 mm long, water thoroughly without leaving any spots dry, to prevent red roots and root rot.

2. Control the water temperature well and water at regular times. The water should not go from cold to hot, to prevent the sprout roots from turning reddish-brown.

3. The watering temperature should not be too high, and the watering duration should not be too short, otherwise the sprouts will only grow roots and no stems.

4. When the sprouts are 50 mm long, the water temperature should be raised and heat increased to prevent the sprout roots from turning black.

5. When the sprouts are almost ready, lower the water temperature for the last three waterings, and take them out promptly once sprouting is complete, to prevent the sprouts from rotting in the middle.
