A Detailed Guide to the Latest Precautions for Growing Black Wood Ear Mushrooms
The black wood ear mushroom was originally a fungus that grew on decaying wood, and later, through continuous artificial trial cultivation, a cultivated wood ear mushroom was developed. Its nutritional value is relatively rich, and wood ear appears in the therapeutic dietary recipes for many ailments. Its main effects are blood nourishment, blood activation, stomach soothing and tonic benefits, among others, so for modern health preservation it is a very good choice. So today let us first take a look at the precautions for growing black wood ear mushrooms.
1. Time
In fact, we can now see black wood ear mushrooms on the market all year round, and the main reason is actually the progress of cultivation technology and the development of the food processing industry. The most suitable seasons for growing black wood ear mushrooms should actually be summer and autumn each year, so when growing them, note that it is best to plant in May and June as well as October and November each year.
2. Temperature
Black wood ear mushrooms can only grow normally after the cultivation temperature reaches the standard. In fact, the temperature requirements of wood ear are mainly shown in that the temperature in the early cultivation stage should be relatively low, then gradually raised, and after reaching a certain level, gradually lowered again. This can speed up the growth rate of black wood ear mushrooms. But in ordinary management, the temperature of the growing room basically needs to reach the standard of 20 to 25 degrees.
3. Humidity
During the growth of black wood ear mushrooms, we need to manage their humidity well. First, note that the wood used for cultivation should reach about 70 percent moisture. Second, the humidity in the air should be at least about 80 to 90 percent. Finally, throughout their entire growth process, we need to regulate humidity accordingly based on the mushroom emergence of the black wood ear and the growth of the spawn, but no matter what, the cultivation humidity must absolutely not be lower than 6 percent.
⟦NL>4. Light
The black wood ear mushroom is a relatively unique fungus, and it differs somewhat from other fungi. So when growing it, we should note that from just after inoculation until the mycelium-running stage, there must be no light. If there is light, then mycelium running will hardly succeed. But when it emerges and when the hyphae grow, relatively strong light is needed for normal growth. So we should pay attention to the timing of mycelium running and mushroom emergence, and then regulate the light accordingly, so as to ensure the yield and quality of the black wood ear mushrooms.
5. Wood for Cultivation
Not all decaying wood can be used for growing black wood ear mushrooms, so what we need to note is choosing the best wood for cultivation and processing the wood scientifically. First, it is best to use Mongolian oak, white oak, elm, willow, mulberry and so on. These trees are relatively common, so the cost will not be too high. Second, the wood for cultivation should preferably have a growth age of about 9 years. Then saw them into small sections of about 1 m to 1.5 m, and let them ferment as quickly as possible in a suitable environment. At the same time, we should check whether the log sections have borers or pathogens, and if so, clean them up and disinfect them promptly, which is beneficial to the growth of black wood ear mushrooms.
6. Disinfection
In the process of growing black wood ear mushrooms, a total of four disinfection steps are needed. First, after the nutrient medium is prepared, the nutrient medium needs to be disinfected. Second, disinfection is needed when processing the wood for cultivation. Then, disinfection is needed when carrying out inoculation, and this disinfection is for the inoculation personnel as well as the inoculation equipment and so on. Finally, disinfection is carried out during mushroom emergence management and fruiting body management, so as to avoid carrying bacteria in and affecting the normal growth of the black wood ear mushrooms.
