The cherry radish is a type of four-season radish in our country. Because its appearance is similar in color and size to a cherry, it is called the cherry radish. Cherry radishes contain various minerals, trace elements and other substances beneficial to the human body. Now in our country, the planting area of cherry radishes is becoming wider and wider, so how should cherry radishes be planted? Below, the editor brings you the planting methods for cherry radishes. Let's take a look!

1. Choosing Varieties

The choice of cherry radish variety is very important. A good variety not only determines the growth ability of the cherry radish, but also has a great relationship with the final yield and quality. Therefore, before planting, we must choose the planting variety well. When choosing a variety, it should be decided according to market demand and the planting region. Currently, common varieties on the market include Chimar Twenty-day Daikon and Zaohong, etc., and their growth period is about one month. They have strong growth ability and are suitable for growing in warm environments, but their heat tolerance is not strong.

2. Preparing the Soil and Making Beds

If cultivating in early spring, cherry radishes grow relatively quickly, so sandy soil with sufficient fertility, deep and loose texture and strong permeability should be chosen. Then, before preparing the soil, apply sufficient base fertilizer, mainly decomposed farmyard manure, and pay attention to the amount. If the base fertilizer is insufficient, the growth rate of cherry radishes will clearly decline, the fleshy root will lack nutrients and be unable to expand, and premature bolting will occur, affecting planting benefits. Early spring planting is generally based on flat-bed sowing. After applying sufficient base fertilizer, the soil should be prepared and deeply plowed to fully mix the soil and fertilizer. Then make the beds half a month before sowing, and cover with plastic film as early as possible to increase soil temperature.

3. Sowing at the Right Time

Cherry radishes have relatively strong cold tolerance, and can be sown when the soil temperature is not lower than 8 degrees. The earlier they come to market in spring, the better their economic benefits will be. Therefore, we should sow as early as possible. Before sowing, soak the seeds in warm water at about 30 for about 1 hour, then place them at a temperature of about 19 degrees for germination. After about 2 days, the seeds will show white. Then water on the bed ridge and sow by dibbling. When the water has seeped into the soil, control the sowing density well and sow at the right time. After sowing, cover with fine soil. Be careful that the seeds are fully and evenly distributed, and that the covering soil thickness remains consistent.

4. Field Management

After sowing, cover with plastic film in time, and at night cover appropriately with straw for insulation. Keep the daytime temperature at about 25 degrees, and the nighttime temperature should not be lower than 7 degrees at the lowest. Then uncover the straw every morning, and cover it again after the temperature gradually drops in the afternoon. After about two weeks, the seedlings will emerge and become full. After the seedlings are full, pay attention to ventilation, and the temperature can be appropriately lowered to about 19. Then thin the seedlings at least about 2 times, and when the seedlings grow to about 5 true leaves, final thinning should be done in time. Do well in fertilizer and water management, and carry out timely intertillage and weeding, creating a good growing environment for cherry radishes.

The above is a brief introduction to the planting methods for cherry radishes. Planting cherry radishes is relatively simple, but field management must be done well. Then there is pest and disease prevention and control management. Only by doing these tasks well can the normal growth of cherry radishes be ensured, yield increased and quality enhanced.
