What are the latest cultivation requirements for the tea tree mushroom?
The tea tree mushroom is one of the common edible fungi in our daily lives. Among fungi, it has a relatively good taste and high nutritional value. As market demand for it grows, more and more people are cultivating it. But to cultivate tea tree mushrooms well, you must first meet its cultivation requirements. Let's take a detailed look below.
1. Temperature
The tea tree mushroom is suited to subtropical to temperate conditions. It has a fairly wide tolerance for temperature, can resist high temperatures and also tolerate low temperatures, and can grow normally between 5 and 35 degrees, with the most suitable growth temperature at 25 degrees. It is a fungus that likes to grow at ordinary temperatures and does not need temperature-difference stimulation. Its fruiting body forms at 13-18 degrees, and mushrooms emerge fastest at around 20 degrees. So if you want high yields when cultivating tea tree mushrooms, the temperature must be well controlled.
2. Moisture
The tea tree mushroom does not have a high demand for moisture. During cultivation it does not need frequent watering; it is enough to keep the moisture content at around 65%. It should not be too much or too little, so as not to affect its normal growth. Fruiting body formation has relatively high humidity requirements. If the humidity is too high during this period, its fruiting bodies form more slowly, while at other times the humidity requirement is relatively low. Generally, when the fruiting bodies are forming, the air humidity should be kept at 100%, and when mushrooms emerge it should be lowered to around 85%, so that the fruiting bodies grow quickly.
3. Light
The mycelium of the tea tree mushroom needs a dark environment while growing, but both the formation and growth of its fruiting bodies require a certain amount of scattered light. If it is in a dark environment, its fruiting bodies cannot form. So when the fruiting bodies are growing, some weak scattered light should be provided, but the light intensity should not be too strong, so as not to cause damage to the normal fruiting bodies and lead to deformed mushrooms.
4. Air
The tea tree mushroom has relatively strong respiration during growth and development. Especially during its mycelium development stage, a supply of fresh air must be ensured, so ventilation should be strengthened during mycelium cultivation to reduce the carbon dioxide concentration in the air. If the carbon dioxide concentration in the air is too high, it may cause the mycelium to suffocate and die. In addition, when the fruiting bodies are forming, poor air quality will also cause slow growth or affect quality.
