Greenhouse vegetable planting techniques have now gradually become widespread among us; greenhouse cultivation can effectively regulate the growing temperature and is easier to manage compared with open-field cultivation. Being able to let everyone eat vegetables that are out of season in every season is a planting technique that many growers are using. So how exactly should a vegetable greenhouse be operated? Below, the editor brings you the planting techniques for vegetable greenhouses. Let's take a look!

1. Land preparation and fertilization

When using a greenhouse for planting, the requirements for the soil are relatively high. When choosing soil, we must ensure the soil is sufficiently permeable and rich in humus. Then do a good job of land preparation for the soil, level it by raking, plow the soil deeply once, remove the previous crop and weeds, and then apply sufficient base fertilizer. However, because there is a certain difference between the temperature inside and outside the greenhouse, the amount of fertilizer applied should be kept moderate to prevent excessive amounts from damaging the soil structure, and attention should be paid to the amount of nitrogen fertilizer, with phosphorus and potassium fertilizers as the main ones.

2. Variety selection

Although most vegetables can be planted in a vegetable greenhouse, there are also some varieties that are most suitable for planting. When choosing planting varieties, try to choose varieties with strong cold resistance, low light requirements, a preference for growing in humid environments, and a short growth period, such as tomatoes and peppers. Only by ensuring that the vegetables grown in the greenhouse are high-yield and high-quality can we meet market demand and improve our own planting efficiency. Then build a greenhouse on the soil, with the greenhouse length controlled at about 70-100 m, and then use drip-free film as the greenhouse surface for easy temperature control.

3. Temperature and humidity control

In greenhouse planting, because the greenhouse has relatively poor permeability, the temperature and humidity inside the greenhouse tend to rise, which can inhibit the growth of vegetables. Therefore, we must reasonably control the temperature and humidity inside the greenhouse. At noon, in summer, and at other times when the temperature is relatively high, do a good job of ventilation, improve the air quality inside the greenhouse, and lower the temperature. Then reasonably control the temperature according to the planted variety. For some heat-loving vegetables, the temperature should be controlled at around 30 degrees. Then pay attention to the humidity inside the greenhouse to prevent excessive humidity from hindering vegetable growth. Therefore, we must do a good job of ventilation and air exchange and control the temperature and humidity inside the greenhouse.

4. Drip irrigation and watering

The evaporation rate of water inside the greenhouse is relatively slow compared with outside the greenhouse. Especially at night, on cloudy days, and in other low-temperature weather, because the temperature is too low, the air humidity is relatively high. If there is too much water, the impact on vegetables is very great. Therefore, when watering inside the greenhouse, it is best to use the method of drip irrigation under film for watering. This can not only improve the planting environment inside the greenhouse. It can also control humidity and moisture well, promote vegetable growth, and reduce the incidence of pests and diseases.

Of course, when planting in greenhouses, we should also pay attention to doing a good job of pest and disease prevention and control. When removing insects, we should reasonably choose insecticides. Insecticides containing substances such as copper and zinc can be used, which not only have a good insect-removal effect but can also promote vegetable growth. That is all for today's introduction.
