The Latest Tutorial on Mushroom Formation Management Techniques for Morel Cultivation
The morel is a very expensive edible mushroom on the market today, with extremely high nutritional value and medicinal value. At present, the scale of artificial morel cultivation has expanded, and yields have increased to a certain extent, but they still cannot meet consumer demand. So if you want to increase morel yields, mushroom formation management is a very important step. Below, let us learn about morel mushroom formation management techniques together.
1. Temperature
Under normal temperatures, morels generally form mushrooms in about one month, which means morels are very sensitive to temperature. The optimal temperature for the growth of morel fruiting bodies is about 12 to 18 degrees. When the temperature is too high or too low, it will affect the growth and development of morel fruiting bodies, thereby affecting the mushroom formation rate of morels. In addition, the temperature difference between day and night should not be too large; generally it is best to have a difference of about 10 degrees. If the temperature difference is greater than 15 degrees, under such conditions, the mushroom formation of morels is also very poor.
2. Light
The growth of morels requires sufficient light. Only sufficient light can ensure the quality of morels. Of course, morels can be grown under lightless conditions during the mycelium running period, but if you want the growth of morel fruiting bodies, then light is necessary. However, we also need to regulate light; we cannot always maintain direct light, otherwise it will also affect normal mushroom formation. In the morning, we generally maintain direct light, but after 1 p.m., we can only rely on scattered light for illumination, and by around 4 p.m. we need to provide shade.
3. Humidity
In order to promote mushroom formation in morels, during this period we will water frequently, but the amount of water each time should not be large; it is best to use a spray-style watering method. Of course, if it is to stimulate mushroom formation, then we need to water appropriately more, using the soaking method for watering. Increase the humidity in the mushroom formation room to about 60 percent to 85 percent, and strengthen humidity maintenance, so that the speed of morel mushroom formation can be accelerated.
4. Ventilation
During the mushroom formation period of morels, we also need to strengthen ventilation management and keep the air circulating in the mushroom formation room. The ventilation duration of the mushroom formation room is mainly related to weather changes and temperature changes. In cases such as relatively dry weather, higher temperatures, and good weather, the ventilation time of the mushroom formation room can be appropriately extended. But if it is low-temperature weather, or rainy weather, then the ventilation duration is best controlled at about two hours. Finally, if the humidity in the mushroom formation room is too high, we should also ventilate in a timely manner to reduce humidity and promote mushroom formation.
5. Topdressing
During the mushroom formation period of morels, we also need to pay attention to topdressing. But under normal circumstances, topdressing is not needed, because the nutrients in the mushroom bed are basically very sufficient and can maintain the normal mushroom formation needs of morels. However, if it is to promote the speed of morel mushroom formation and improve the yield and quality of morels, then we can spread a layer of plant ash on the mushroom bed and then spray water. Or use an appropriate amount of potassium fertilizer for spraying, and the effect is also very good.
Generally speaking, if scientific mushroom formation management is carried out according to the above management process, then the yield and quality of morels can basically be guaranteed to a certain extent, so everyone still needs to seriously learn professional morel cultivation techniques.
