The king oyster mushroom (Pleurotus eryngii) is a common and delicious edible mushroom that can often be seen on people's dining tables. It is an everyday consumable mushroom and is well liked in the market. If you want to grow it to earn good economic returns, you must definitely learn how to grow it yourself. Please pay attention to the following content to understand it.

1. Planting Time

The king oyster mushroom is a low-temperature mushroom. Generally, in the north it can be planted except in summer, but in southern regions it is generally best to start cultivation in winter, around November. Other regions can plant according to actual conditions. However, many are now facility-cultivated, with fully automatic temperature control, so it can be planted at any time.

2. Spawn Production and Inoculation

Usually test tubes are used. Put the sterilized culture medium solution into the test tubes, place them at a slant, and let them cool into a slanted surface before starting inoculation. After about a week they will generally be fully covered. Then prepare the culture material, generally using wheat bran, cottonseed hulls, plus gypsum powder and a small amount of sugar. Sprinkle some water and mix together, then sprinkle some chemicals and repeatedly press and roll, maintaining 70% moisture. Then bag them, filling long-tube-shaped bags, and then place all the bagged material in a high-temperature steaming boiler and steam it overnight. After it cools, it can be inoculated and planted.

3. Fruiting

Stack the spawn bags in a clean, moist greenhouse, sprinkle water once a day to maintain 80% air humidity, then adjust to a temperature of 15 to 20 degrees to promote fruiting. After the young mushrooms form fruiting bodies, their growth inside the bag is obstructed, so you can artificially make a small opening to let them emerge from the bag surface, or untie the bag openings at both ends. During the young mushroom development period, spray water at fixed times every day, raising the humidity to 80%, to promote the young mushroom fruiting bodies to grow and mature. It takes about half a month for the king oyster mushroom fruiting bodies to mature.

The complete cultivation method is what has been described above. So as long as you follow this operating procedure, there should be no problem in cultivating high-quality mushrooms. Then the cultivation methods described above, I believe, should be no problem for everyone.
