Cabbage, also called heart cabbage in some places, is a cruciferous vegetable belonging to a 1-2 year herbaceous plant, and it has a growing history of several thousand years in our country. Cabbage contains very rich nutrients and is welcomed by many people, so its planting area is also growing larger and larger. So how exactly should cabbage seeds be handled? Below, the editor will bring you the cultivation techniques for cabbage. Let's take a look!

1. Seed selection and sowing

First of all, we should choose the cabbage variety according to the planting season, and the selection can be made according to shape, maturity and other aspects. If it is delayed autumn cultivation, then mainly use mid-to-late maturing varieties; if it is early spring cultivation, then also mainly use early maturing varieties. The sowing method for cabbage is mainly broadcast sowing. After preparing the seedbed, mix the seeds with soil and evenly scatter them on the soil. Then cover with soil and control the sowing rate well. Generally, the amount used per mu is about 50g. The sowing amount should not be too much, otherwise it is easy to cause cabbage seedlings to affect each other's growth.

2. Seedbed management

⟦NL>If cabbage is raised as seedlings in winter, then we should pay attention to doing a good job in heat preservation. One week before sowing, the shed should be properly covered to increase the temperature inside the shed. After cabbage seeds are sown and before seedlings emerge, the temperature of the small arched shed should be controlled at about 22 degrees, and the nighttime temperature at 15 degrees. Suitable conditions can bring full seedlings in about 4 days. After the seedlings emerge fully, attention should be paid to appropriately lowering the temperature and hardening the seedlings, so as to avoid the phenomenon of leggy seedlings. Then do a good job in thinning seedlings, with spacing controlled at about 3cm, to provide sufficient growth space for the seedlings.

3. Seedling splitting and planting

When the seedlings grow two true leaves, carry out seedling splitting. First prepare nutrient soil well, then prepare nutrient pots. Control the planting density well for temporary planting. After seedling splitting, water appropriately and raise the temperature, with daytime temperature at 18 degrees and nighttime temperature at 10 degrees, maintaining this for about 5 days. When the seedlings grow 7 true leaves, they can be planted. Before planting, do a good job in land preparation and fertilization of the field for planting. Mainly use flat-bed planting, control the planting density well, and keep the planting spacing at about 30*40cm. Finally, dig the planting holes and begin planting. The depth should be such that the seedling soil ball is level with the bed surface.

4. Field management

⟦NL>After planting, water once to promote seedling stabilization, then water once about 5 days later to help the seedlings recover. Do a good job in intertillage to increase soil temperature and enhance the growth ability of the seedlings. After rosette leaves grow, reduce the amount of watering to avoid excessive growth, promote seedling squatting, and control the seedling squatting time according to the variety. For example, early maturing varieties squat for about one week, while the opposite should squat for about half a month. After entering the rosette stage, water reasonably, and in the heading stage increase the amount of water and fertilizer. Topdressing fertilizers are mainly urea and farmyard manure.

The above is a brief introduction to cabbage cultivation techniques. The cultivation method of cabbage is actually relatively simple, but it should not be taken lightly, and management work still needs to be done well. That is all for today's introduction.
