Morel mushroom is a type of fungus, and the market demand for it in China is very large. It likes to grow in low-temperature and high-humidity environments. Therefore, it is most widely distributed in the southwestern region of China. The current market price of morel mushrooms is very high, so the economic benefits of morel mushrooms are quite good. So how should morel mushrooms be grown? Below, the editor brings you the planting time and methods for morel mushrooms. Let's take a look!

1. Planting Time

Because morel mushrooms like to grow in low-temperature and high-humidity environments, as long as the temperature stays within the range of 3-25°C, they can grow normally, and the most suitable temperature for growth is within 15-18°C. Therefore, sowing is generally carried out from October to December each year. If the temperature exceeds the range of 3-25°C, the mycelium is very likely to die. So when planting morel mushrooms, be sure to choose the sowing time well, and adjust it according to factors such as temperature and humidity to ensure normal growth of the morel mushrooms.

2. Preparation Before Planting

Before planting, we need to prepare a suitable cultivation substrate for the morel mushrooms. The cultivation substrate is generally made mainly from materials such as straw, sawdust and bran, and some phosphate fertilizer, humus soil and other substances can also be added to it. After mixing the cultivation substrate well, add an appropriate amount of water, ferment it for about three weeks, and then put it into plastic bags. Then place it in a high-temperature environment for sterilization. After completing these preparatory steps, you can begin the mycelium inoculation work. The inoculation method is mainly inoculation at both ends, then cover with film and soil, press it firm, place it flat on the bed surface, and finally sprinkle an appropriate amount of water and cover with soil. After about one month, the fruiting bodies can grow out.

3. Management During the Fruiting Period

The fruiting bodies of morel mushrooms can generally grow in an environment of 10-18°C. If it exceeds this range, the growth of the fruiting bodies will be obviously inhibited. The optimum temperature is 12-15°C. After the fruiting bodies grow out, we should pay attention to controlling light well, as light is very important for the formation of fruiting bodies. Especially during the development of the fruiting bodies, light is indispensable, and an appropriate amount of scattered light should be provided for the morel mushrooms. The intensity of scattered light also has a certain relationship with the color of the fruiting bodies. If the light is stronger, the color of the morel mushrooms will be darker, and conversely, lighter. During the fruiting period, providing about 30% light for the morel mushrooms is sufficient.

4. Ventilation and Moisture

During the growth of the morel mushroom fruiting bodies, pay attention to controlling the water content of the soil, keeping it at about 60%. A suitable water content is what ensures the normal growth of morel mushrooms. The entire mushroom shed should maintain a humid environment, and it is best to keep the humidity at about 88%. Then we also need to do a good job of ventilation, because morel mushroom is an aerobic fungus, so it is necessary to maintain sufficient oxygen in the mushroom shed. Every morning and evening, appropriately open the shade net and ventilate properly to maintain air quality.

The above is a brief introduction to the planting time and methods of morel mushrooms. That is all for today's introduction. This article is for reference only. Thank you all for reading and supporting.
