Water bamboo is an aquatic vegetable, so it is generally cultivated in the south. With the development of agricultural technology, it is now not only cultivated in the water-rich south, but can currently be cultivated all over the country. Moreover, greenhouse technology can also accelerate the growth of water bamboo, but some problems also need attention. Let's take a look together below.

1. Fertilizer and water management

On the basis of applying sufficient base fertilizer and during the seedling stage, after the seedlings are established in early April, strong-stem fertilizer should be applied in time, which is beneficial for making the stems thick and strong. Generally, 30 kg of imported compound fertilizer is applied per mu. When one third of the plants begin to form the swollen stem, the leaves are still relatively tender at this time, and 20-30 kg of compound fertilizer can be applied per mu to ensure the nutrients needed by water bamboo later. The management in March and April is mainly furrow irrigation, and a good irrigation water layer should be established. After the swollen stem forms, deepen the water layer to 15 cm to improve the quality of water bamboo.

2. Prevent pesticide damage and fertilizer damage

In the process of greenhouse cultivation, the most important thing to pay attention to is preventing pesticide damage and fertilizer damage, so volatile fertilizers such as calcium cyanamide and urea and any chemical herbicides are not allowed in the greenhouse. Only an appropriate amount of ternary compound fertilizer should be used to prevent chemical fertilizers and herbicides from burning the seedlings. In addition, after fertilizing, attention should be paid to ventilation to discharge the gas released during fertilizer decomposition and promote better growth of water bamboo.

3. Prevent high-temperature scorching

In March, greenhouse ventilation is extremely important. During the day, the door films at both ends should often be opened for ventilation, while at night they should be sealed to keep warm. When the daytime temperature reaches 18 degrees and the temperature inside the greenhouse reaches about 32 degrees, the films at both ends of the greenhouse should be opened in time for ventilation, which is beneficial to the growth and health of the seedlings. When the daytime temperature reaches above 20 degrees, part or all of the greenhouse film should be removed in time, and it is appropriate to control the temperature inside the greenhouse to no more than 30 degrees, so as to avoid the seedlings being scorched by high temperatures.

4. Prevent freezing

In early spring, the temperature changes drastically. There are two films on both sides of the greenhouse, and the skirts on both sides must be adjusted. After entering April, the temperature becomes stable, and at this time all the films can be removed. However, if the films are removed too early, the water bamboo will be damaged by cold air, and the harvest period will also be delayed, so attention must be paid.
