Cucumber is a very common fruiting vegetable in our daily lives. It is cultivated in all parts of China, and nowadays cucumbers are mostly grown in greenhouses. Growing cucumbers in greenhouses makes it possible to achieve off-season cultivation. And when growing greenhouse cucumbers, we need to carry out management work properly according to the season. So how should greenhouse cucumbers be managed in spring? Today the editor has brought you the spring management techniques for greenhouse cucumbers. Let's take a look below!

1. Carry out land preparation

The roots and stems of cucumber seedlings have a very high water content and are rather brittle. If management is poor during planting, they are easy to break. Their tolerance to waterlogging and drought is relatively poor. Therefore we must pay attention to doing a good job of land preparation. When preparing the land, make sure the soil is level, and let it slope appropriately in one direction. Improve the soil's water-holding capacity, ensure there are no large clods in the soil, and that it is rich in organic matter. When plowing, we should also pay attention to applying sufficient decomposed organic fertilizer in layers. The fertilizer can be chicken manure, cake fertilizer, etc., to ensure the soil has adequate nutrients.

2. Soil disinfection

The multiple cropping index of greenhouse soil is relatively high, but the pathogen content will also be relatively high. So we should also pay attention to doing a good job of soil disinfection. We can use agents such as fulvic acid salt or carbendazim for disinfection. Mix them with fine soil and then spread it on the clods, then form ridges for cultivation. When forming ridges, wide and narrow rows should be the main pattern. Keep wide rows at about 80cm and narrow rows at about 70cm. And between the ridges, dig watering furrows well, keeping an appropriate amount of water in the furrows. Finally, cover the ridges with a layer of plastic film to raise the ground temperature.

3. Transplant at the right time

After doing a good job of land preparation and disinfection, we should then transplant at the right time. When transplanting, we first need to plant one row each on the ridges and on both sides of the drainage furrows. The plant and row spacing should be kept at about 30*60cm. Control the transplanting amount well; do not transplant too many per mu. And before lifting the seedlings, we should also sterilize and disinfect the seedbed once with chlorothalonil. After the whole greenhouse has been transplanted, use fumigants such as Subaiyan and Yashijue smoke fumigant to fumigate and disinfect the greenhouse once, to reduce the incidence of pests and diseases.

4. Strengthen management

When the cucumber vines grow to about 30cm, do a good job of hanging the vines, removing the melon vines from the seedlings. Improve air permeability and promote their rapid growth. Do a good job of watering according to the actual condition of the cucumbers. At the growing point of the cucumber, if there are no dew drops in the morning or the temperature is good at noon, then water under the film in time. And after the female flowers fade, appropriately supplement an appropriate amount of compound fertilizer such as urea and potassium sulfate, to promote fruit expansion and increase yield. Finally, control the temperature well, do a good job of ventilation, moisture removal and cooling, and maintain a suitable day-night temperature difference.

The above is a brief introduction to the spring management techniques for greenhouse cucumbers. That's all for today's introduction. This article is for reference only, and we hope it can help everyone!
