The Latest Planting Methods and Planting Time for Soybeans
Soybean is a type of legume and also the most primitive form of legumes. Soybeans are quite versatile in our daily lives, and many things are made using soybeans as a raw material, making them very popular in the market. Now Qinnong Network will teach everyone how to grow soybeans and tell you what time is suitable for planting soybeans.
Planting Time
The planting time for soybeans is related to region and climate. Different regions will have a gap of one to two months in planting time. The best planting time for soybeans is June each year, but northern China will be slightly earlier, generally starting to plant gradually in April or May, while southern China will not start planting until May or June. Later, a new variety called August Yellow appeared, which means soybeans that are only planted starting in August, so it is called August Yellow.
Planting Methods
1. Land Preparation and Fertilization
Soybeans have strong adaptability and can be planted in any kind of soil. In rural areas, many people do not even plow the land and just dig a hole every certain distance for sowing, so this shows that they are quite easy to grow. However, if you want high yield and high quality soybeans, we still need to follow the rules step by step. First, we need to prepare the land. When preparing the land, try to plow deeply, because the biggest enemy of soybeans is field mice, so this can prevent field mice. At least during land preparation, you can dig out some of the field mice that are hiding. Soybeans do not need a lot of nutrients, so when preparing the land, it is enough to spread an appropriate amount of farmyard manure as base fertilizer.
2. Sowing and Seedling Raising
There are two ways to sow soybeans: direct sowing and transplanting. Direct sowing is just as mentioned above, digging holes and sowing at intervals of 30 to 50 cm per plant. For transplanting, we first need to raise seedlings in a seedbed. Before sowing, water the seedbed, then sow the seeds, cover the seeds with soil, and wait for them to sprout. When the bean seedlings grow to 4 to 5 cm, they can be transplanted. The transplanting interval is the same as the direct sowing interval.
3. Field Management
After planting, water the field roughly once, trying to water every plant. Then one week later, thin or fill in the seedlings in the field to ensure uniform seedlings and complete establishment. After that, within 5 to 7 days, carry out one intertillage, weeding, and fertilization for the soybeans, and water once at the same time. This fertilization generally uses a mix of compound fertilizer and urea. The second fertilization should wait until the soybeans bloom and form pods. At this time, soybean growth needs a certain amount of nutrients, and in order to make the pods full, a little potassium fertilizer and phosphate fertilizer can be applied. Then you can wait for the fruit to mature.
4. Disease Prevention
The period when soybeans are most likely to show disease symptoms is the time of flowering and pod formation. So in order not to reduce yield, we carry out protective measures to preserve flowers and pods for soybeans, generally spraying with dimethoate emulsion.
5. Timely Harvest
The maturity time of soybeans will be inconsistent, so special attention must be paid during harvest. Generally, when most of the pods on the bean plants gradually turn yellow-green, and when you touch them with your hand they are relatively hard rather than flat or crumbling at a touch, they can be harvested. After harvesting, they should be dried in the sun, and finally threshed. After threshing, there will be a lot of debris. After cleaning out the debris, they can be packed.
