Latest Rice Seedling Raising Techniques, Methods and Tutorial Highlights
Rice is one of the main food crops in China, especially in the southern regions of the country. Generally, after the Beginning of Spring, most regions begin preparing for rice seedling raising, so how can we achieve a higher seedling emergence rate when raising rice seedlings? How can they grow better? How can they be more resistant? Below are several key points of rice seedling raising techniques, which everyone must master when raising seedlings. Let's take a look together.
1. Seed Treatment
Before raising rice seedlings, seed treatment is needed, which can improve the germination rate of the seeds and thereby increase the seedling emergence rate of rice seeds. First, the seeds need to be sun-dried; then soak the seeds with Baike or prochloraz plus cartap hydrochloride mixed with water, and the soaking time is five to six minutes; then soak them with imidacloprid wettable powder for two days; finally, carry out germination acceleration, and when about 80 percent of the rice seeds have sprouted white, they can be sown. This can not only improve the seedling emergence rate of rice but also enhance the rice's resistance to pests and diseases.
2. Water Management
Water management during rice seedling raising is also quite important. Generally, the seedling bed does not need too much water; usually it is enough to soak the seedbed surface through. Second, when the water in the field decreases, water should be added appropriately, keeping the moisture at the original level. The water in the rice seedling field should not be too much, otherwise it will affect the seedling emergence of rice and also trigger pests and diseases, leading to the death of the seedlings. If raising seedlings in dry land, we should water promptly when removing the film, soaking the soil through to prevent seedling death, and during the seedling emergence period, we should also maintain reasonable humidity in the seedling field.
3. Fertilization Management
Fertilization management for rice seedling raising is also divided into two methods: dry field and paddy field. Generally speaking, dryland seedling raising does not require much nutrients; when the base fertilizer is sufficient, no additional fertilization is needed later, so as to avoid excessive fertility causing seedling burn. However, if the base fertilizer was not handled properly and the seedlings show yellowing leaves, then fertilization should be applied promptly. For paddy field seedling raising, the fertilizer requirement is relatively large. When fertilizing, we usually follow the principle of frequent application of thin fertilizer to prevent seedling burn and promote seedling growth.
4. Pest and Disease Control
To avoid the impact of pests and diseases on the growth of rice seedlings, it is best to spread 48% chlorpyrifos emulsifiable concentrate and 35% phoxim microcapsule granules before sowing, with the amounts being 150 milliliters and 1 kilogram per mu respectively. After sowing, to prevent underground pests from harming the rice seeds, we also need to scatter an appropriate amount of 40% phoxim emulsifiable concentrate mixed with bait around the seedling field. After the rice seedlings emerge, we mainly need to prevent damping-off disease, bacterial wilt, and leaf-eating pests from harming the seedlings. We can use bensulfuron-methylmiddot;quinclorac, bensulfuron-methylmiddot;quinclorac, and imidacloprid wettable powder plus Junke Dukang for control respectively.
The above are the four key points when sowing and raising rice seedlings, and they are also the key to rice seedling raising. Generally, as long as these points are mastered well, the rice seedlings cultivated will be excellent, and they are also greatly beneficial for later field operations.
