We all know the benefits of lemons, but at present they are most commonly used for weight loss and beauty, and the results are excellent. Many friends have experienced this firsthand. The scent of lemon is quite fresh and especially pleasant to smell. Since the demand for lemons is now relatively high and large quantities still need to be imported, some people with a business mind have taken up lemon cultivation, but they found that lemon yields fluctuate. So today QinNongNet wants to teach everyone how to increase lemon yields. Let's take a look together below.

1. Improve Fertilizer Use

The most direct way to increase lemon yields is to improve the fertilizer used and the fertilization method. In order to increase lemon yields, a newest type of fertilizer has now been developed. It is a high-potassium water-soluble fertilizer with quick fertilizer effect and no side effects, making it a relatively environmentally friendly fertilizer. It is Fujinmen water-soluble fertilizer. Switching to this fertilizer can promote branch and leaf growth, extend the flowering period, increase the fruit-setting rate, and make the fruit expand and color evenly, with obvious effects. Secondly, after the fruit sets, an appropriate amount of boron fertilizer can be sprayed to make the fruit plump and glossy.

2. Branch and Leaf Pruning

Branch and leaf pruning is also meant to make the lemon tree more vigorous when it enters the fruiting stage, so it is generally divided into four stages. The first is the seedling stage, when we mainly want the trunk to grow and then keep only a small number of side branches, so we can choose to keep a few strong side branches where the branches and leaves are denser and cut off all the rest. The second is fruit trees that are beginning to bear fruit; we still focus on trunk growth, keep side branches, and let them grow horizontally. The third is fruit trees in vigorous fruiting; we must ensure they have enough sunlight and good ventilation in the orchard, so we need to prune away some relatively fragile branches and leaves carrying disease. The fourth is the aging stage of the fruit tree. At this time the trunk and the previous side branches have little vitality left, so they all need to be cut off, leaving the branches and leaves newly grown at the base. After each pruning, a disease-prevention agent must be applied to the cuts, otherwise they will become infected and cause the plant to wither.

3. Flower and Fruit Thinning

The number a lemon tree can carry is limited, while it flowers and sets fruit relatively heavily every year, but we definitely cannot just let it grow naturally like this, so when the lemon flowers are in full bloom, some flowers need to be knocked off, keeping some of the better flowers. Secondly, if the lemons are still very dense after setting fruit, some weak-growing fruits, deformed fruits, or diseased fruits need to be removed to reach the load the lemon tree can bear. If you are too soft-hearted for a moment, then not only will you fail to increase the yield, but the quality will also be poor.

4. Bagging Lemons

Because summer temperatures are relatively high and there is also relatively more rain, lemons are very prone to disease during this period, and at the same time many insect pests appear. In order to protect lemon growth and increase lemon yields, a new technique has appeared at the current stage: bagging lemons. After the lemons set fruit, we need to put bags on each lemon to prevent pests and diseases, so as to ensure lemon growth.

5. Artificial Pollination

If the pollinator trees are paired reasonably when planting, artificial pollination is generally not needed. Only when natural conditions are relatively harsh and the flowering period is unstable is artificial pollination needed. We can place bee colonies in the orchard and use bees to pollinate. Secondly, we can collect pollen and then complete pollination by spraying or smearing. Finally, during the flowering period we can spray an appropriate amount of boron fertilizer to increase the fruit-setting rate.
