Rambutan is a fruit that has recently appeared on the market, and it is also a typical tropical fruit. Recently, the editor has had a question: why are all the newly appearing fruits tropical fruits? However, rambutan is also very suitable for growing in China's Hainan region, so most of the rambutan on the Chinese market is produced in Hainan, along with imported goods, or grown in areas of China with a relatively warm climate. So today Qinnongwang brings you the planting methods for rambutan; those who need them can save this.

1. Sand bed preparation

Before planting rambutan, the seeds need to be germinated, and germination requires a sand bed, so the first thing in rambutan planting is to make the sand bed. The sand bed is best built in a shaded place. Next, do not choose fine river sand, because fine river sand is not conducive to rambutan seedling emergence. Next, the sand bed must be built as large as the number of rambutan you need to grow. Next, the drainage system must be done well; if there is too much water in the seedling bed, the rambutan seeds will rot. Finally, just level the sand bed and you are ready to sow.

2. Sowing and germination

For the seeds, we should choose relatively plump ones without defects. Then, before sowing, we need to rinse the seeds clean in clear water, because the surface of the seeds contains a large amount of sugar. If they are not rinsed clean, they will attract ants and various other pests, which will damage the seeds and affect the germination rate. Then press the seeds one by one into the sand bed, cover the surface with a thin layer of fine sand, and finally cover with a shade net, then water once. After the moisture on the shade net dries, we can carry out one sterilization and insecticide treatment, which can more effectively ensure the seedling emergence rate of rambutan.

3. Sand bed management

The growth period of rambutan on the sand bed is about one month, so sand bed management is very important, as it can affect the later growth of rambutan. During this period, we must constantly check the sand bed to see whether there is still moisture. If the sand bed becomes dry, water it immediately to maintain the humidity of the seedling bed. Under normal circumstances, watering is needed twice a day, except on rainy days. On rainy days, not only should you not water, but you also need to drain excess water from the seedling bed, otherwise it will affect the normal development of rambutan seeds. After about one month, the sprouts will be about ten cm tall, and at this point they can be transplanted.

⟦NL>4. Reasonable transplanting

Transplanting needs to be done into properly prepared land. Drainage ditches need to be dug in the field in advance, about one ditch every three to four meters. Next, each plant should be planted at a distance of two meters, with about three meters between each row, so that the normal spreading of rambutan will not be affected, and field management during the growing period will also be convenient. Next, rambutan needs sufficient light to bear fruit, so the density must be arranged reasonably, otherwise the fruiting rate of rambutan will be very low.

5. Field management

After transplanting, we need to water it once a day until rambutan grows new roots and green leaves, which proves that it has survived. After the rambutan seedlings survive, we can fertilize them. The first fertilization is mainly to promote the growth of the seedlings' branches and leaves, so we mainly use urea. It can be applied by digging holes beside the seedlings, or it can be watered on after mixing with water. Then the field needs one intertillage and weeding every month to let the seedlings breathe. During the growth process of the seedlings, we generally need to fertilize frequently, that is, fertilization must be carried out once a month, continuing until fruiting. When it comes to fruiting, only three to four fertilizations are needed per year, mainly fruit fertilizer.
