Egg fruit is known as one of the most unpalatable fruits in the world. I wonder if any friends who have tried it would like to share how they felt after eating it. Anyway, this editor finds it hard to put into words, but its nutritional value and benefits are beyond everyone's expectations. It helps promote digestion, tonify the kidneys, lower blood lipids, detoxify, and has beautifying, anti-aging and body-shaping effects. So despite its poor taste, it is still very popular, especially among women. Today this editor will give everyone a brief introduction to its cultivation methods.

1. Planting Preparation

Egg fruit is a typical tropical fruit, so before planting we need to make thorough preparations. First, choose a sunny spot for planting. Second, the soil layer of the planting site is best loose on top and firm below, so that water retention and permeability are better. Of course, if the soil is rich in organic matter, that is ideal. Finally, you can choose a plot with a certain slope for planting, which is good for drainage and irrigation, and it should be close to a water source. After the planting site is chosen, the land needs to be prepared. You can use full reclamation or pit reclamation; full reclamation gives better results but takes more time. When preparing the land, apply sufficient base fertilizer, usually at a rate of about 25 kilograms per plant. The last thing to note is that the planting site should be disinfected and sterilized, which can prevent many diseases and pest problems.

2. Sowing and Seedling Raising

After all the preparatory work is done, it is time to sow and raise seedlings. For seedling raising, we first need to prepare a seedbed. The seedbed should be on relatively high ground, with sufficient light and good drainage. Break the soil into granular form and rake it level, then water the seedbed thoroughly, spread the seeds evenly, and finally cover them with a layer of organic compost and cover with plastic film to keep warm. Usually seedlings emerge in about 8 to 12 days.

3. Scientific Transplanting

Egg fruit saplings can only be transplanted when they have grown to about 30 cm. When pulling up the seedlings, be careful to dig them out together with the soil from the seedbed, so as not to damage the roots and stems of the saplings. Planting them together with the soil also makes it easier for egg fruit trees to survive. Finally, before planting, part of the branches and leaves of the egg fruit tree need to be pruned, and then they should be planted at a spacing of 2 meters between plants and 3 meters between rows.

4. Field Management

The field management of egg fruit trees needs to be divided into two stages: young tree management and mature tree management. The main purpose for young trees is to promote the growth of branches and leaves. Fertilize at least once a month, without using too much fertilizer. At the same time, pay attention to water management and appropriately prune branches and leaves, cutting off some of the more messy branches, which can better promote the growth of side branches. Generally, egg fruit trees bear fruit in three years, so starting from the third year we need to fertilize reasonably according to the fertilization pattern for mature trees, mainly paying attention to the management of the flowering and fruiting periods.

5. Pest and Disease Control

The most common pests and diseases of egg fruit trees are termites and scarab beetles. As for termites, we all know they cause especially great damage to fruit trees, and scarab beetles are also a pest that lives by gnawing on tree flesh. When both of these pests appear on egg fruit trees at the same time, the situation is even more serious, so targeted pesticides should be used promptly for control. Secondly, during the fruiting period, birds often come to steal the fruit, so we should also prepare in advance. You can hang plastic bags, balloons, or scarecrows in the grove for control.
