How to Grow Shine Muscat Grapes? The Latest Planting Technique Tutorial
Grapes are a common fruit for us, grown all over the country, and there are many varieties. Among the large number of grape varieties, there is one whose flesh is crisp and sweet and which also carries a faint rose fragrance, making it deeply loved by consumers. It is the Shine Muscat grape, which has the characteristics of high sugar and strong fragrance. Below, the editor will bring you its planting techniques. Let's take a look.
1. Orchard establishment
Choose a site close to a water source, convenient for drainage and irrigation, flat in terrain, and with sufficient sunlight to establish the orchard. The orchard site requires soil rich in organic matter, with a pH value between 6-8, slightly acidic or slightly alkaline; too high or too low will affect the normal growth of the grapes. In addition, saline-alkali land is also unsuitable for establishing an orchard, and areas with pollution sources nearby are also unsuitable. Clean up the early grass and residual plants in the orchard, then, in combination with land preparation, apply 2000 [units omitted in source] of organic fertilizer and 100 kg of phosphate fertilizer per mu, make the planting beds well, and set up the grape trellis.
2. Seedling selection
⟦NL>In all places, Shine Muscat grapes are grown mainly from grafted seedlings, and Shine Muscat grapes have relatively high requirements for seedlings, requiring rootstocks with vigorous tree growth. Therefore, rootstocks are generally selected from Huajia No. 8, 3309C, 3309M, etc. for grafting. If these are not available, vigorous-growing and disease-resistant varieties such as Summer Black and Beta can also be selected for grafting, while rootstocks with weak growth and weak disease resistance are not suitable as grafted seedlings.
3. Planting
After cultivating the grafted seedlings, planting should begin. The planting time is recommended to be 15-20 days before grape bud break in spring, and the planting method should also be combined with local climatic conditions. For example, spring temperatures differ greatly between the north and south. When planting in the north, dig planting holes deeply and plant after filling with farmyard manure; while in the south, plant on ridges after deep plowing, dig drainage and irrigation ditches deeply, and cover with relatively shallow soil after planting.
4. Water and fertilizer management
After planting, to make the plants grow quickly, when watering at planting, nitrogen fertilizer can be dissolved in water and applied, which can promote rapid root growth of the plants. In addition, topdressing should be carried out multiple times each year. The first time is in spring, when the plant roots are growing, so nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizers should be used for topdressing. When topdressing, pouring application or drip irrigation can be used, with 1-2 kg of fertilizer per mu. Do not apply concentrated fertilizer, so as not to cause root burn. The second fertilization is during the branch and leaf growth period, when the plants are in their peak growth season and need sufficient fertility to support their growth. Likewise, use pouring application or drip irrigation, with 2-3 kg of high-nitrogen compound fertilizer per mu, once every half month, for 4-5 consecutive times. When the fruit ripens, in order to improve yield and quality, phosphorus and potassium fertilizers should be applied as topdressing, with 2-3 kg of potassium fertilizer per mu, significantly increasing the yield. After harvest and before leaf fall, base fertilizer should be applied to improve flower bud quality. It is recommended to apply 2000 kg of decomposed farmyard manure, 30 kg of ternary compound fertilizer, and 50 kg of calcium-magnesium phosphate fertilizer per mu.
