What are the latest precautions for planting snow pears?

General News By Sophie Bennett 0 views
We are no strangers to snow pears, because snow pears play a very big role in our lives. First of all, the most common one is rock sugar snow pear, which can treat coughs and some other symptoms, but snow pears are not suitable for everyone to eat. At present in our country, the most famous snow pear growing areas are Sichuan, Anhui, Hebei and other places, so how should snow pears be planted? What should be noted when planting them? Let us take a look below.

1. Improving the soil

The soil of a snow pear planting site is generally best if it is relatively loose, has sufficient water, drains well, is unpolluted and fairly fertile. But many agricultural lands today basically occupy relatively good geographical locations, so when there is no land most suitable for snow pear growth, we can improve the soil structure by artificial means. First of all, deep plow the land, then open furrows and apply fertilizer, and carry out rotational plowing every other year, finally combining this with base fertilizer. In this way, the yield and quality of snow pears can be improved to a certain extent.

2. Density management

Planting density is also relatively important, because the snow pear is a light-loving plant and needs sufficient sunlight, so the light transmission in the field should be relatively good. The currently recommended planting density is generally a row spacing of about 2.5 to 4 m, and a plant spacing of about 2 to 3 m. This density is relatively reasonable. The specific planting density needs to be comprehensively considered in combination with the topography and terrain of the planting site as well as the soil conditions and other aspects.

3. Flower thinning and fruit thinning

Many people basically do not pay attention to the process of flower thinning and fruit thinning after planting snow pears, and some are even reluctant to carry out flower thinning and fruit thinning for fear of reducing yield. In fact, carrying out flower thinning and fruit thinning is precisely to better ensure the yield and quality of snow pears, because the nutrients a snow pear tree can supply are only so much. If there are too many fruits on the tree, it will cause malnutrition and thereby affect the growth of the snow pears. We should thin out excessive flower buds in winter. When flowering, if there are too many flower buds, another remedial thinning is needed. Finally, after the fruits have set, thin the fruits according to a reasonable density, removing weak fruits, diseased fruits and so on.

4. Watering and fertilizing

Fertilizing snow pears is mainly related to tree age. For young trees, we mainly follow the principle of frequent application of thin fertilizer. For adult snow pear trees, we generally fertilize in four stages, namely growth fertilizer, flowering stage fertilizer, fruit strengthening fertilizer and maintenance fertilizer. Growth fertilizer is generally mainly nitrogen fertilizer, pre-flowering fertilizer is mainly potassium fertilizer and phosphorus fertilizer, fruit strengthening fertilizer is mainly potassium fertilizer, and for maintenance fertilizer we can use organic fertilizer or compost. As for watering snow pears, what we need to note is that in the middle and late stages of fruit strengthening, water should be reduced so as not to affect sugar accumulation. At the same time, during ordinary watering we should maintain balanced field moisture to avoid fruit cracking.

5. Pruning and shaping

In order to ensure that snow pears can receive sufficient sunlight during growth, we need to continuously carry out scientific pruning of branches and leaves during their growth process. The most common tree shapes are the multi-trunk open-center shape, the multi-main-branch round-head shape and the thinning layered shape. We need to prune according to the growth vigor of the snow pear tree as well as the planting density, terrain and so on. Generally, pruning is carried out according to the principle of retaining strong branches and vigorous branches and removing weak branches, diseased branches and dead branches.
