Strawberry is a common fruit in our daily lives, with extremely high economic and ornamental value, and is extremely popular among consumers on the market. The annual planting area of strawberries in our country keeps growing. So how should strawberries be planted? Let's take a look at the strawberry planting techniques.

1. Site selection and fertilization

Because strawberry roots are relatively shallow, the requirements for soil are relatively high. Choose a loose, fertile, flat plot of land for planting. Half a month before planting, carry out land preparation. First spray chemicals for disinfection, then plow 1-2 times to loosen the soil. Next, apply base fertilizer. It is recommended that the base fertilizer be mainly decomposed farmyard manure, combined with a small amount of chemical fertilizer. Generally, apply 4000 kg of farmyard manure per mu plus a small amount of compound fertilizer. After raking it fine and leveling it, make beds and plant at the proper time.

2. Planting

Select excellent seedlings that grow vigorously, have many fibrous roots, and are disease-free. The seedlings should preferably have at least 3-4 true leaves and a stem diameter of about 1 cm, so the survival rate is higher. Generally, planting is carried out in August in autumn. At this time, the temperature and humidity are both relatively suitable for strawberry growth, and after planting, they can grow quickly. Generally, plant two rows per bed, with row spacing controlled at about 20 cm, spacing between beds at about 30 cm, and plant spacing controlled at about 20 cm, with no more than 10,000 plants per mu.

3. Fertilizer and water management

After the strawberry seedlings survive planting, water and fertilize once to promote seedling growth. When strawberries enter the fruit enlargement stage, the demand for water is extremely high. At this time, water frequently to keep the soil moist, but do not flood irrigate; drip irrigation should be used to avoid soil waterlogging causing root suffocation. At the same time, also pay attention to humidity, temperature, and so on. Humidity is best kept at about 50%. Temperature should be adjusted according to the growth stage of the strawberries. Generally, in the early stage after planting, keep it between 25-30 degrees during the day, and it must not be lower than 12 degrees at night. During the fruiting period, keep it between 20-30 degrees during the day, and it must not be lower than 5 degrees at night, so as to avoid stagnation of fruit growth.

4. Pest and disease control

Strawberry roots are relatively shallow and the plants are not tall, while a humid environment easily breeds bacteria, so attention should be paid to pest and disease control measures. Especially during periods of low temperature and frequent rain, strawberries are highly susceptible to gray mold and powdery mildew, while the main insect pests include aphids and others. Pest and disease control should focus on prevention, using a combination of physical and chemical control methods. When diseased plants are found, promptly pull them out and take them out of the field, and spray chemicals for comprehensive control. For aphids, Dingkang can be sprayed for control.
