How to Fertilize Yellow Peaches: The Latest Fertilization Techniques and Methods Tutorial
The yellow peach is a fruit that has sold extremely well on the market in recent years. The scale of yellow peach cultivation is now constantly expanding, but if you want to increase yellow peach yields, expanding the planting scale alone is not enough, so fertilizing yellow peaches becomes very important. So how do we fertilize yellow peaches? Let's take a look at the fertilization technique introduction below.
1. Fertilizing young trees
Yellow peach trees grow relatively quickly, and their fertilizer requirements during the young tree stage are also relatively large. During the young tree stage of yellow peaches, our main goal is to promote the overall growth of the yellow peach tree, so generally nitrogen fertilizer is the main type used. The principle for fertilizing young trees is generally frequent application of light fertilizer; the amount applied each time should not be too large, so as not to damage the tree body, but the application amount needs to be appropriately increased according to the growth conditions of the young trees. Young yellow peach trees generally need five to six topdressings per year, with the amount of nitrogen fertilizer controlled at about 20 kg each time, and at the same time about 5 to 10 kg of phosphate fertilizer should also be appropriately used. When the yellow peach tree has not yet borne fruit but the tree shape is complete, we need to reduce the use of nitrogen fertilizer and increase the amount of phosphate and potassium fertilizer used, to promote flower bud differentiation and enter the fruiting stage as early as possible.
2. Fertilizing trees that have just started bearing fruit
When yellow peaches first bear fruit, the amount of fruit they produce is generally relatively small, but at this time our fertilization method has already changed noticeably compared with the young tree stage. When yellow peaches sprout, about 15 kg of urea needs to be applied as topdressing; before yellow peaches bloom, about 10 kg of nitrogen fertilizer should be applied as topdressing, together with about 10 kg of phosphate fertilizer; after the yellow peaches set fruit and the fruit grows to the size of a peanut, fruit-swelling fertilizer needs to be applied as topdressing, and during this period phosphate and potassium fertilizer are the main types, with the amount controlled at about 50 kg. The last thing to note is that in order to give yellow peaches better coloration and improve their quality, we also need to appropriately apply potassium fertilizer as topdressing.
3. Fertilizing trees in full fruiting stage
In fact, fertilizing yellow peach trees in the full fruiting stage is similar to the topdressing method in the initial fruiting stage, and the topdressing process is basically the same; the difference lies in controlling the amount of fertilizer applied. Yellow peach trees in the full fruiting stage need much more fertilizer than in the initial fruiting stage. During the growth period of yellow peaches, the amount of nitrogen fertilizer should be controlled at about 30 kg, and phosphate fertilizer should be used appropriately, with an amount of 5 kg; pre-bloom fertilizer is mainly phosphate fertilizer, with an amount of about 20 kg, plus a small amount of urea and nitrogen fertilizer; of course, we can also use a ternary compound fertilizer; during the fruit-swelling period, 80 kg of potassium fertilizer and 20 kg of phosphate fertilizer are needed; in the later stage of fruit growth, an appropriate amount of foliar fertilizer also needs to be sprayed to avoid weakening tree vigor and extend the full fruiting period of yellow peaches.
4. Fertilizing aging trees
When yellow peach trees are in the aging stage, in order to maintain yellow peach yields, the branches and leaves of the yellow peach trees need to be renewed. At this stage, it is necessary to promote the growth of new fruiting branches, and their fertilizer requirements are also relatively large. During their branch and leaf growth period, nitrogen fertilizer is mainly used, and the amount should be maintained at about 150 kg. During their later growth process, topdressing can simply be carried out according to the fertilization method for the initial fruiting stage.
Through the above introduction to yellow peach fertilization methods, I believe everyone now knows how to fertilize yellow peaches. I hope everyone's subsequent planting goes smoothly. Of course, if you still have other questions, or want to ask specifically how to apply the fertilizer, you can also leave us a message.
