Strawberries taste sweet and sour and are deeply loved by everyone. Nowadays many growers are also actively cultivating winter strawberries. Strawberries themselves are a summer fruit, so the cost of winter cultivation is relatively high, and their price in winter is also relatively high. So how are strawberries fertilized in winter? Let's learn about it together with the editor.

1. Nursery fertilizer

Fertilization at the seedling stage should mainly use organic fertilizers such as compost, livestock manure, and cake fertilizer, with microbial inoculants added to improve the utilization rate of organic fertilizer, and then chemical fertilizers such as superphosphate and potassium sulfate should be applied. To promote flower bud differentiation of the seedlings, an appropriate amount of base fertilizer can be applied during temporary planting, and a nitrogen fertilizer can be applied once in the middle of temporary planting, with 5-10 kg of urea or 150-250 kg of decomposed human manure and urine per mu.

2. Base fertilizer

After planting, strawberries begin to bloom and set fruit. Because their growth period is relatively long, base fertilizer should be used before planting, with 5000 kg of farmyard manure applied per mu, 6-8 kg of microbes added, mixed and then applied, to alleviate soil continuous cropping obstacles and improve the utilization rate of organic fertilizer. If the soil is acidic, apply another 50 kg per mu, which can be broadcast and then the soil deeply plowed. In the first autumn after planting and at the turn of summer and autumn each year, 2000-3000 kg of compost, 50-100 kg of cake fertilizer, and 7-10 kg of compound fertilizer can be applied per mu in furrows.

3. Reasonable topdressing

The specific application amount should be determined by the amount of fruit harvested: more fruit harvested, more fertilizer applied; less fruit harvested, less fertilizer applied. Before the flowering period, apply 10-15 kg of compound fertilizer and 200-300 kg of decomposed human manure and urine per mu as topdressing. Later, when the fruit expands and when it is harvested, topdressing should be applied separately. Throughout the entire growth period, topdressing is needed 4-5 times to meet the needs of plant growth and fruit development.

4. Foliar fertilizer

After strawberries set fruit, foliar spraying of fertilizer is needed 2-3 times with 0.2%-0.3% monopotassium phosphate and 0.5% urea. In addition, to improve the taste and quality of the fruit, microbial inoculants need to be applied, diluted 200-300 times for foliar spraying. In addition, calcium deficiency in the fruit can also cause fruit rot, so attention should be paid to the supply of soluble calcium, more organic fertilizer should be applied, the soil organic matter content should be increased, and the application of nitrogen fertilizer should be controlled.
