How to grow Sansevieria trifasciata 'Hahnii' so it bursts into a full pot
1. Repotting the soil:
1. After this plant grows for one to two years, its roots will spread throughout the entire pot. At this point we should repot it in time, so that it can grow even more luxuriantly than before.
2. For the potting soil, sandy soil is mainly recommended. We can choose leaf mold plus garden soil plus river sand, mixed evenly in a 2:2:1 ratio. After these soils are mixed, they need to be sun-dried for a while before use. When repotting, you can place crushed stones at the bottom of the pot.
2. Changing the flower pot:
The flower pot should be one with good drainage. First place stones that can filter water at the bottom. It is best to use a clay pot; if you do not have one, choose a ceramic pot or a plastic pot.
3. Light:
This plant likes to grow in an environment with mild temperatures and sufficiently dry conditions, and it likes bright light. Although it can also grow in relatively shady places, this will slow down its growth rate, so we can appropriately increase the light. However, in terms of light, it is best to provide scattered light. In summer, be careful to shade it; at other times, just give it 3 to 5 hours of scattered light each day. This growing method is also good for its flowers to bloom.
4. Temperature:
This plant is very afraid of the cold. It is very easy to keep alive, but it is also very easy to freeze to death. So once the cold winter arrives, pay attention to keeping it warm; if the temperature is below 5 degrees, it is very easy for it to die. In the cold winter, we can put it indoors and keep the temperature above 10 degrees.
5. Water:
This plant is used to an environment without water, so we do not need to water it too frequently, otherwise its roots will rot. Especially in winter, reduce the number of waterings and the amount of water. It is recommended not to water in winter; if the temperature is above 15 degrees, we can wait until the soil layer is dry before watering.
6. Fertilizer:
If you want it to fill out its pot, just appropriately add some diluted fertilizer. Generally choose the two peak growing seasons of spring and autumn, adding ordinary fertilizer once every two months.
