But this plant also has one big drawback: it is prone to root rot. Many gardening enthusiasts just throw it away once the roots rot. So is there any way to save this plant? Yes, there is. Next, I will give you some methods for dealing with a plant after its roots rot.

1. Cleaning

First, take the whole plant out of the flowerpot and clean off the soil clinging to the roots.

2. Pruning

Take a pair of sharp scissors, carefully check which parts of the plant's roots have already rotted, and then use the scissors to cut off the rotted roots.

3. Disinfection

Prepare a basin of solution made from diluted carbendazim solution or diluted potassium permanganate solution, and soak the plant with the rotted roots cut off in the solution for more than one hour.

4. Drying in the shade

Take the plant out of the solution, find a cool place, and carefully place the plant there for about one day, waiting for it to dry naturally.

5. Potting soil

You need to prepare another batch of soil that is beneficial for its renewed growth and development. So how should this soil be mixed? We can choose to mix leaf mold, sandy loam soil and river sand in a ratio of 2:2:1; or we can also mix leaf mold, peat soil and half garden soil together; if you really cannot find these soil materials or are too lazy to mix them, you can directly buy clivia cultivation soil at a flower market.

6. Potting

First lay a layer of drainage material at the bottom of the flowerpot, such as ceramic granules or brick granules, or coal cinder, etc. Then fill nutrient soil on top, and finally replant the plant in it, cover it well with the soil layer, and water the soil layer thoroughly.

7. Care

At this point, you can place the flowerpot on a north-facing balcony for care. Do not expose it to direct sunlight, and wait until the plant has adapted before moving it over. Move it over.
